Description of 1951 Ford Other Pickups --

One look at this one, and everyone will think that you really do work at a Texaco service station in the 1950s. That's because this 1951 Ford F-1 has the bright look you want from a rolling billboard, but it also has the right amount of workman attitude left in. So that makes for a very cool V8 vintage machine.

You know you love the Julip Green. It has a radiance that would attract people to an old filling station or just to your driveway. The whole package is so well coordinated with the Texaco logo, and in fact, the red steelie wheels with whitewalls are like extra calling cards to "The Service with the Star." There's a ton on nice brightwork with the bumpers, full trim, step plates, and two-piece wheel inserts. But what really has us hooked is the overall appearance. The bodywork is straight and there's an overall workman attitude you see in the finish and oak lumber truck bed. It gives the impression this truck has been in the hands of a careful serviceman for nearly 70 years.

The same respected real truck attitude continues inside. The exterior green returns on the door tops and dash, and now it's joined by a tasteful black. The bench seat has been upgraded for added comfort, but the thin and grippy steering wheel retains that terrific classic feel. In fact, it's setup just like as if a workman was still using it today. That's why the classic dash now has an AM/FM CD stereo nicely integrated below it. The factory gauges are supplemented by helpful pieces like a Stewart Warner water temp readout and Pro Tach tachometer.

And just like a truck that's been going to work for the decades, this one has been upgraded in the engine bay. The flathead has been traded for a 283 cubic-inch OHV V8. The bold block paint radiates nicely from within the dark engine bay. And there's even some extra flair on the mesh air screen and Holley ribbed valve covers. But what you'll really love is that it fires up eagerly and makes a sweet sound out of the very straight dual exhaust. Oh yes, this one really wants to get to work! It gives you that pure vintage feeling as this truck connects you with the road, and even the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission is part of the experience. Plus, the classic whitewalls are actually hiding a modern tread so it gives you extra confidence with this classic.

This is the true classic with a ton of personality. So if you love real vintage motoring, this Ford is your new best friend. Call now!
