Description of 1949 Ford Other COE CABOVER

I CAN TALK VIA PHONE IF YOU PREFER. JUST SEND YOUR NUMBER. I CAN SELL AT ANYTIME. AND IT'S FOR SALE LOCALLY. THANKS1949 FORD COE TRUCK This COE has an excellent body for your project. It is straight and is remarkably dry. This will be a great truck for a pickup rod. car hauler. rollback. ramp truck. topkick 4x4. or? Many possibilities. These trucks look nice with stepside boxes from the era. Used boxes are available but reproduction box parts are available to build a new box to your desired dimensions. Box sides. fenders. tailgates. wood floors. etc. are all available to build a box. This truck has a nice running flathead 8BA V8. Details are in the mechanical section. Many pics of other restored coe trucks are included. to show the potential of these trucks. I also have more pics of this truck and a brief video of the engine running. Battery cover is included but is not pictured. I do have a picture of it though or can get one. MECHANICAL This truck has what most likely is the original flathead V8. It runs nice. It's not driveable now. but doesn't appear to need any major mechanical work. It will need new fluids. some new hoses. carb rebuild. and the other usual stuff a truck needs after sitting many years. I'm sure the brakes most likely need work. The motor runs nice but I didn't run it long. Radiator was stolen. but previous owner caught the guys when they were taking it to the recycling place. So. the original radiator is in place but hoses were cut. Fuel system will need cleaned. I filled carb bowl to get it to run. but the carb leaks bad so it needs rebuilt. Clutch and transmission worked and all gears seemed to work but I didn't drive it. just tried them briefly from park. I believe this has the 2-speed rear but I'd have to double check. If your doing a custom build on this truck and using a different chassis. I can shorten the frame for shipping if you want. BODY The body is very nice for an unrestored COE. The body is very straight. It has an old farmer brushed on paint job. but it has faded mostly and there is no sign of bondo at all. The paint job is so old that if there were any bondo/filler of any concern. it would be cracking by now. Age and weather does that to bondo. There is no sign whatsoever of filler and the paint job is most likely 40 years old or older. This is a clean body for restoration. I've owned and seen several of these trucks. and this is the straightest one I've ever seen that hadn't already been restored. These were normally work trucks. and they usually have at least some dents. The doors and hood close as they should. Battery cover is included but is bent. Nothing major. and I'm sure it's a fairly easy fix. All glass is flat. I'm sure some is cracked and needs replaced. but I can double check that if they aren't visible in the pics. INTERIORThere is not much in the way of interior in these. but the seats are original. which is nice. It's cleaner than these old projects usually are. Drivers seat has the factory suspension spring and shock. Gauge area all looks good. I believe the visors are in it. Engine cover is in it. I don't believe the dash has been cut at all. OVERALL This is an excellent truck to start with for a restoration. As described before. the body is nice and the fenders are very straight. If you've seen a restored or rodded COE. you know how cool they are. Many people put them on newer chassis. but you could use this drivetrain and shorten it to fit your needs if necesary. If you don't use this flathead engine. you can always use in in a lighter rod project or sell it. They also sell many speed products for the flathead to get this truck moving better if you choose to keep in in here. This old truck is sold as-is. Thanks and happy bidding > .
