Description of 1937 Ford Other

This auction is for a 1937 Ford 1/2 ton panel . This is the model with the 2 barn doors in the rear. Just out of lengthy storage . The body is all Henry Ford steel. The fenders and running boards are fiberglass . The original flat head 8 engine was changed some where in it's history and replaced with a 52 or 53 Mercury flat head 8. We spent a little time tuning and replacing the fuel pump and it fired right up. Motor runs real well but does have a slight rattle on initial start up. It does quiet right down after a couple of seconds. 3 spd manual transmission shifts fine in all gears. Juice brakes were added some where down the line They are very low so probably needs fluid and bleeding. When my friend got this panel it was partially apart as prior elderly owner was working on it. Front seats are redone but are just sitting in place. Gauges are just lightly bolted in . I am sure if you are going to restore you would pull it apart to do things properly. The body appears to be in decent shape especially being 78 years old. I did notice some filler on the inside rear fender tubs. a small repair by the belt molding on the drivers side rear quarter panel. A few bubbles in the lower passenger door bottom outer skin. and a small spot on the passenger rear quarter bottom at the very end. looks like the body may have been dropped on that spot and bent the corner. I did see 2 flat repair spots on the outside rail of the frame on each side just in front of the rear tires. Looks like a nice clean job and if you ground down the weld line smooth you wouldn't even notice it. There are some slight impressions on the upper roof panel but I believe they will dolly right out with no problem. We replaced the door regulators and glass with fresh ones. We have various extra parts including spare tire cover. heater. headlight and dimmer switches. nice dash wiring harness. new door seals. windshield seal. used glove box liner. and interior door handles. hinge pins etc. You don't see this body style much anymore so it would be a good basis to restore . hot rod . resto mod. or what ever you desire to do. We have a past NH registration that we can transfer to next owner should you need a title in your state. May also be willing to trade around up or down for other vintage autos. late model caravan or trucks . No bikes boats or whatever. Would have to be in the upper new England states other wise the shipping on both vehicles is up to you . We reserve the right to end the auction early in case of a local sale. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at auctions end . Balance due within 3 days of auctions end. On Apr-02-15 at 13:54:00 PDT. seller added the following information:Have had some inquiries as to the exact year of this panel . I know it looks like a 36 but It was purchased as a 1937 and we have an actual registration that states 1937 Ford . I don't know if this is an early 37 as other Ford enthusiasts that we know have said that they used left over 36 parts to do these panels. I know the 36's have a one piece windshield and the 37 are 2 piece like this one. Maybe the windshield was changed. I believe the body's are the same for both years. Possible somebody changed the hood and grille over the years from a 36. I am not an expert on Fords of this vintage so I guess I have to leave it up to the buyer. If you purchase it and feel it is a 36 and want a new registration then I will get a revised registration for you. Thanks for all the interest Bob
