However, among Ford guys there's still a lot of inhouse fighting regarding what model is best. Please allow me to be a little bias while simultaneously providing a brief description, pictures and videos for those casting a ballot in the rag top direction! There are several reasons why this 1969 convertible is special.First "rarity should be considered.Only 4.6 percent of the total Mustangs assembled that year were soft tops! The styling cues, quad head lights and open air presentation was voted second to none by Motor Trend upon its release. Why should this one receive strong consideration? The original owner found the car at a dealership in Suffolk, Virginia.From what I understand he actually treasured the car and kept it in his possession for almost two decades. The second lucky owner(a pharmacist) acquired the car in 1987.He utilized it as a daily driver and garaged the car accordingly.Several antique photos are still preserved by his immediate family of him wiping it down. He finally decided to part ways with it a short time ago to take care of other obligations.His admiration for the vehicle motivated him to orchestrate a top notch restoration before bidding it farewell. His journey to complete the task started in Portsmouth, VA. A solid body and good foundation made it a bit easier to accomplish the job. The rust free / accident free 2 owner car would first be taken to Dream Restorations.There it was stripped of the outdated lacquer factory original paint. Afterwards the exterior, body lines and factory tooling gaps were brought up to snuff under scrutiny of the professionals. All of the little details that most seem to overlook make this one special!It is very easy to admire the cars overall appearance thanks in part to hundreds of invested labor hours! The BEAMING BRIGHT BLUE pearl paint stops traffic once the car cover is removed! If you've seen enough typical red, black & blue cars "this one's for you"! A deep mirror like finish keeps the compliments coming and cell phones flashing! The material chosen to cover the body is a blend of Alubeam Diamond Edition Tri-Coat material "blinding in sunlight"! No matter what angle you view the car from an ostentatious presentation is provided. A menacing & aggressive stance is granted by aid of a factory hood scoop with integrated turn signals. Superior sport mirrors can be found at either end of the doors base line. The front and rear bumpers have been replaced with Ford sanctioned N.O.S components / back up lights. The other chrome & stainless appointments are in great condition (marker bezels, quarter ornaments, grill moldings, door handles, etc)! A new running pony is centrally located to the left of the grill.There's also perfectly situated gas cap out back. Pristine fender script and trunk emblems finish off the intricate details. There are few words that can describe the contrast provided by the SLOE BLACK GT stripes displayed below! FAN FAVORITE! The total picture can only be described as breath taking!!!! LETS TAKE A FINAL PEEK! As if it couldn't get any better there is yet more good news concerning this vintage blue oval! It looks just as good with the top up as it does down! A new appealing wrinkle free KEE manufactured vinyl top has recently been installed. The upholstery shop that managed the operation has a reputation for its high quality & craftsmanship! This outfit is actually recognized on the national collector car circuit for their hallmark artistry (information & receipts provided to the new lucky owner). The rear window, pads, straps, tacking stripes & well liner were also replaced (no shorts taken)! Simplicity was the order of the day when it was fashioned. No need to worry about leaking lines, failing switches, expensive top motors, hydraulic fluid or any other issues involved with power assist. This is a manual top / Haartz Pinpoint "a cinch to lower"! Top down fun is simply a breeze!However anyway you slice it this Ford is ready for prime time! Enjoy a few photos with the top lowered. It's truly an experience from stop light to stop light.Passers by just can't seem to get enough of giving the good ole thumbs up! Guys driving the modern muscle cars love to pay homage! HOW ABOUT A CLOSER LOOK! Once the door is cracked open on this 69 pony you will find a completely restored sweet black interior! The cockpit renders an exceptional dash pad and beautiful gauge assembly (all functioning)! A show quality steering wheel without a single crack and new center pony sits front & center. Both seats have been reupholstered with superior TMI covers.Extra padding has been added for long trips and comfort! The rear bench in back is waiting for little ones eager to go on an ice cream cruise. A first rate set of Ford sanctioned door panels with new emblems can be found on either side. Spank brand new loop pile carpet is sealed to the chassis. All and all you'll feel like the toast of the town inside or out! Now we know that no classic Mustang can be considered a true pony car without having a factory V/8! If that statement can be deemed true"I have great news"! This spectacular Mustang left the factory with a very respectable power plant (351 Windsor)! Dearborn moved right pass the light weight 302 V-8 option for better performance. I can assure you each ride is a thrill! The rebuilt block also carries a laundry list of new internal components! I:EPolished heads, aluminum pistons and Enginetech lifters!Preventative maintenance has been addressed religiously!All new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, solenoid, voltage regulator, etc. Fuel distribution is evenly regulated thanks in part to all new fuel lines, fuel pump, gas tank, sending unit, carburetor & too much more to list!Keeping things cool has never been easier "drive with confidence"! She has all new radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses and belts!Hitting the freeway has never been better! A sweet note is sung each and every time the throttle is engaged!Located underneath is an ALL NEW CHAMBERED EXHAUST SYSTEM front to back!The flow travels through a pair of competition racing edition Dynomax mufflers! LETS LISTEN! For the person who desires the absolute best and embraces dependability "look no further"! Want more? There was no better wheel suited for the classic Mustang than the authoritative Magnum 500 rim!Although many enthusiast roll with the 14 inch version we decided to up the anty with a wide width 15x8 inch wheel! Finally I would like to take a second to detail just how solid it is underneath. The floors, torque boxes and frame rails are in magnificent condition! The over all structural integrity is above reproach! The trunk and drop offs are also in excellent shape!
