And. if you're looking to score a fully sorted custom that mixes classic good looks with modern road manners. it's a strong candidate for your next street rod!BODYWORK/TRIMWhen you set your sights on creating a top-notch roadster. you have to start with a team of professionals who know the ins and outs of fabrication and assembly. And. thankfully. the folks who created this Hi-Boy certainly knew how to build an immaculate street rod. The project began with a full fiberglass body. During a thorough. no excuses build. that fresh resin was carefully sanded. fitted with a cloth roof and layered in deep purple 2-stage. That 2-stage was traced in red pinstripes. complemented with smoked glass and detailed with a billet grille. That grille was followed with billet mirrors. polished H4 headlights and modern tail lamps. And today. wrapping classy aesthetics around fully sorted mechanicals. this awesome Roadster has the kind of unique style and eye-popping appeal that'll turn heads anywhere it goes!ENGINEBy now it's probably pretty obvious this Ford was built to be seen. But. thanks to the 350 cubic inch Chevy beneath the car's steel hood. that might be easier said than done! The polished and body-matched mill revs under a big 4-barrel carburetor. which rides between a polished scoop and polished aluminum intake. At the perimeter of that intake. polished aluminum heads hang polished and milled valve covers over chrome wire looms while a modern Mallory distributor shoots spark through black Taylor cables. Below those cables. coated block hugger headers take care of spent gases while polished pulleys spin a polished alternator opposite a polished AC compressor. At the front of that compressor. a beefy radiator circulates clean coolant past a large. electric puller fan. And. despite being a thoroughly modern piece. the hot small block looks right at home in this Ford's glossy engine compartment. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONUnder this impressive roadster a custom suspension utilizes an independent front half and 4-link rear half to produce new age ride and handling characteristics. At the center of that suspension. a proven Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed sends power to a tough Ford 9-inch that's fitted with lucid. road-ready gears. Quick stops are provided by a floor-mounted booster. which pushes fluid through stainless lines and braided hoses to modern front discs and traditional rear drums.
