Description of 1988 Ford Mustang Maclaren

Hello all interested parties!!I am going to do my best. as always. to describe what I have here for auction. As with most of my auctions. this is a no reserve sale. meaning the highest bidder wins!!If you are not 100% sure that you can pay for this car. that you can't send an immediate deposit or that you can't pay for the balance in full within 5 days. THEN PLEASE DON'T BID!!!I have already heard every single possible story imaginable about why someone can't follow through with a bid that they place. so if you aren't 100% sure then don't bid and waste my time and money. PLEASE!!!!IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL CALL ME DIRECTLY AT 727-482-9299The skinny:This has been my mother-in-law's car for the past 7 years and has been her baby. Every service. fluid and maintenance that was required for the past 7 years has been done! She used this car as a half-time daily driver between this and her Harley. It has always been kept indoors or under cover. She believes she is the second owner but please do your own checking if that is important to you. That does not however mean it is perfect. but it is nice! Here is what it would need to be 100% restored and perfectThe seats are leather and have never been re-done and it currently has seat covers but the leather is in poor shape. needs to be re-upholstered to be perfect. The paint looks amazing overall from a little distance. but up close there are some spots that have cracked and would need attention to be perfect. There is a very slight exhaust leak. she is not sure exactly where. but under full throttle and then no-throttle it does make a popping sound. The convertible top has a release button that allows it to be folded down. the button is controlled by a solenoid that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. so for the top to always come down the solenoid would need to be changed. This is car #1245 out of #2768 total Maclaren Mustangs made over a 7 year period. Lots of these were automatics. what a shame!! The 5-Speed is the way to go!!The Clutch feels like brand new and grabs instantly. no play at allThe battery is only 2 years old but has died due to sitting. I just went with her to jump the car about a week ago and the moment there was enough juice in the battery to crank the car it started. it didn't turn for even a 1/2 second before she fired up. All the compression is there and the motor sounds awesome. Short of this small exhaust leak. I don't believe you have any mechanical issues at all. I have personally driven the car around and it is pure 1980's Joy!!!The engine makes 225hp stock. the only modifications to the car are custom headers and custom intake. it might produce 250hp now and would be really easy to return to stock if you wanted something unmolested!I have taken pictures of the car from every angle and included the pictures that show the cracks in the paint. I've done my research and these cars have actually appreciated a little bit over the last 5 years. I would bet you can buy this car for around $7K and drive it for 1 to 5 years and get your $7K back when you have had your fun. not too many other cars like that!!!Please call me directly if you have any questions at all - Ed Randall - 727-482-9299She is ready to let her baby go so I suggested doing a 3 day no reserve auction and that is exactly what I have done. RememberHighest Bidder Wins!!$1000 deposit in 24 hours and the balance in 5 days!!!!! - If you can't or won't do this then don't bid!!!!
