Description of 1968 Ford Other deluxe estate

. Barn fresh. a Cortina Deluxe Estate. I have owned this Cortina Estate since the mid ninties and drove it to a few car shows. then other cars came along and this car got parked in the barn about 1997 or so. I bought it off an estate. This Cortina is a straight forward restoration now. It is 97% original from the paint to the drive train. all I have done is replace the tires and rebuilt the carb. brakes and boiled the gas tank. but that was20 years ago!!! The brakes still work but the clutch master cyl is stuck. The engine turns and I had it started a few years ago on a lark. but it will need all new fluids now. This car is remarkably solid with only one rust thru hole under the front fender on the out rigger see photo. he rest is SURFACE RUST only and faded/ peeling dark green paint . The windshield is cracked and the side view mirror glass is broken. Everything else worked last time I had a battery in it including the factory AM radio. It even has one of the original Lucas headlights. The interior is as it left the factory and still very nice with only the usual dash top split. Seats front and rear. headliner and rear mat in perfect shape. actory tools under the rear lift up seat that also folds to make a flat bed for hauling or camping. the carpet has seen better days. Glass is good This car is straight and true and one of a very few imported. I even contacted Ford about my Cortina and they were surprised and please to provide information to me. I also have Ford correspondence. the owners manual and sales brochure. Please look at all the photos and bid to own this unique little Ford Wagon. Ask question and I will try to answer. I placed a battery out of my TR8(not included) into it filed the points cleaned the contacts unhooked the fuel line to the carb. pulled the air cleaner squirted some gas it it and bingo it fired right up and idled. I will try to get the clutch master cylinder to pump fluid and then it should run and drive around the yard. The brakes work. I am NOT saying I will have the CMC rebuilt in time for this auction. just "maybe". It is up to the new owner to get this car road worthy. My point being that this is a weekends worth of work then you can be on the way to driving fun. or restoration photos link http://www. use. com/B70IC http://www. use. com/B8QHg http://www. use. com/B8V5Q
