Description of 1951 Ford Other Pickups

Up for auction is a 1951 Ford F1 Pickup equipped with an 8BA Flathead V8 engine and 3 speed manual transmission. The rear differential has been upgraded with a Ford 9" from a newer model Ford pickup. The gear ratio is highway friendly. therefore this truck can attain freeway speeds comfortably. unlike most trucks of this era. The rest of the suspension and drive-train is original - with manual steering and manual drum brakes. This truck also retains it`s original 6 volt electrical system. It has a brand new battery and starts easily. Everything on this truck works properly: All lights. gauges. speedometer. wipers. horn. heater and turn signals. The engine runs great and the brakes stop fine. The clutch and transmission work good and the shift linkage operates smoothly. There are no fluid leaks. Oil pressure is good. It does not overheat. The body is very solid. no rust detected. I was impressed the first time I crawled under it and looked. Very clean and solid underneath! The exterior has recently been repainted a nice glossy black. The paint job is very fresh. It looks great but should not be considered a show truck. There are a few minor blemishes here and there but overall it looks great. The wood in the bed looks good. no cracks or rot. The interior of the cab is a silver color. the seat is blue. There are no rips or tears in the seat. The 15 inch radial tires are almost new and a dual exhaust system was installed a few months ago and has a nice mellow tone. There is a trailer hitch mounted underneath. should you want to tow a small boat or trailer. It is currently registered in Texas with antique tags. It should have no problem passing a safety inspection in any state. It would be a fun weekend cruiser or is dependable enough to be a daily driver.
