Description of 1965 Ford Thunderbird

Fall in love with this American Classic. The 1965 was in the middle of the 4th generation of the Thunderbird and referred to by enthusiasts as the "Jet Birds" due to their styling cues take from aviation mania at the time.

Some think these Birds with their sleek lines minimalist styling comfortable interiors and powerful 6.4L - 390cid V8s are the best classic Thunderbird's to own.

You will find other thunderbirds however you'll not find a finer example of an original un-molested "Jet Bird" around for this kind of money.

This car is a pampered (Garage Stored - Under Cover) example that is very original. .

The drive-train is correct and original and the interior is exquisite recently having New Old Stock Carpeting and Headliner replacements.

She recently had a complete mechanical tune-up including complete engine removal and all of the gaskets replaced and freshened up thermostat belts fuel pump new battery and the list goes on and on for this "sympathetic restoration". This car runs and drives very well and is a joy out on the highway with smooth effortless power and a great ride; and the clock works too.

Comes with original Owners Manual Many original labels and tags from the day she was sold at the dealership fender skirts original rims as well as the hub caps (hand painted / and restored).

The 390cid V8 is extremely well presented with correct stickers and trim and a top level of attention paid to cleanliness and detail. This is one of the finest examples of Ford's famed "Jet Bird" styled T-birds and a true '60's icon.

Car comes with lots of Original documentation of provenance and tons of extra parts.

Only 25000 original miles (verified by title)

390 "high output" (4 barrel) - 300HP Factory power disk brakes Factory power windows Factory reclining passenger seat with headrest (yes that was a big deal back then) Dealer Installed Chrome side trim (also a big deal back then) "Tilt-a-way" steering column First year for the Famous Sequential Turning Lights.

Condition - She's not perfect but for 50 years old she's in great shape. a slight drip of power steering fluid from the steering box and a small surface rust area near the rear wheel. Otherwise just get in and cruise.

Upgrades include - Holley Street Avenger 4-Barrel carburetor. (I kept the original carburetor in case someone wanted to do a full on restoration) Factory A/C - Upgraded to modern 134a with new compressor and receiver-dryer. (again the original compressor comes with the car as well) I have a new expansion valve for it however I have not yet installed it / so I have not charged the a/c system yet (as not to damage anything) period correct floor mats with the t-bird logo Custom AutoSound's "USA-630" with Blutooth i-pod connection aux imput 200w output it looks like 1965 but sounds 2015

She may not win the “concourse d’ elegance” but she’ll make you proud at the local “Cruise in night” or car show.

If you want a very low maintenance enjoyable cruiser look no further.

If you would like to discuss this beautiful classic I am willing to entertain reasonable offers however this car is priced appropriately to condition.
