Description of 1955 Ford F-100

Up for auction is a great daily driver 1955 Ford pickup truck. The body is sitting on a 1991 F150 complete chassis and has all the 1991 drivetrain wiring harness fuel tank etc. It has the 5 speed manual overdrive transmission and the rock solid 300 straight 6 cylinder. Factory fuel injection power steering (kept the 1991 tilt steering column power disc brakes on the front stock drums on the back) The donor truck did not have air conditioning. We had the frame shortened to match the 1955 wheelbase. The engine/transmission layout in the frame necessitated the fabrication on a plywood doghouse which is removable for easy access to the back of the engine. Look at the pictures carefully..I am happy to send any more that you may need. Running boards are homemade out of treated wood. It has operated great for over 5 years and approx. 30000 miles driven every day like a truck should. It is set up with a reese hitch and we often pulled a small flatbed trailer for work. The Midwest Equipment lettering is all in vinyl and is easily removed if needed. Engine starts right up has good power it did use about a qt of oil every 1500 miles while we were pulling a trailer. No major leaks. Starts right up. Tires in good shape. Rims have some rust around the chrome.

The body was redone 3 years ago with all new fenders hood and tailgate. A local professional body shop did the painting. The oak bed floor is still very solid it was replaced on the original build approx. 8 years ago. The door latches were upgraded to "bearclaw" type which close smoothly all new door weatherstrip with the paint job 3 years ago. Aftermarket radio with cd player speakers in the doors and power windows. Heater works as we put the 1991 blower fan into the 1955 heater box assy. Headliner is a one piece abs plastic covered in gray cloth. There is some surface rust on parts of the bed I have tried to take pictures of those areas.

Overall the truck is in good shape easy to work on and get parts for as most of it is all 1991 F150. This is not a show truck...and was never meant to be one. It has been great advertising for our business a blast to drive every dayand should keep running for a long time. Call or text on 309-208-4322 if you have questions.
