Description of 1956 GMC 100

This truck was a labor of love and has been gone through thoroughly by our mechanic shop over a 4 month period. We have literally started at the rear of truck and gone forward not overlooking anything vital.
This truck is believed to have only 58k plus miles original. Has original Pontiac V8, Hydramatic transmission, 6 lug wheels. Has factory power brakes. This is a BIG REAR WINDOW TRUCK WITH TRIM.
We have literally done the following to it: Rebuilt complete brake system including master cylinder. Rebuilt starter. New brake hoses, wheel cylinders, brake lines, emergency brake cables, rebuilt rear end. We rebuilt original carburetor from scratch, tune up, flushed fuel system. We have removed the farm bumper from rear and installed new reproduction brackets, license plate bracket, chrome bumper for original finish. Truck has rebuilt water pump, electric fuel pump to make starting easier. New turn signal lenses, re-chromed head light bezels, dome light assembly, rear view mirror, radiator hoses, fuel filter, intake manifold gasket. Anything that looked important was rebuilt or replaced with correct parts.
Engine sounds and runs great but there is a short in electrical and truck should be re wired for daily driver. We have driven truck and it shifts good, runs strong. There is a cut out in dash where radio was and will need to be fixed.
We found original white paint under a re paint so we wet sanded most of it off along with the surface rust leaving the original patina look that is so popular right now. Has clear title, keys, new registration.
Will need some restoration but most of the hard work has been carefully and thoughtfully done. We have had it on the lift and see no signs of accidents, good solid old truck. Original markings are still visible on fire wall and transmission has original tag from Lucas. Driver door does sag from lower hinge being broken from cancer. They make a patch kit for 40.00.
