Description of 1969 International Harvester Scout

For sale is my pictured 1969 Scout 800a. I recently purchased this vehicle, ut my wife says I have too many projects! This will be a great ride for someone. Much of the hard work is done so you can drive her just the way she is if you like.
To start with the previous owner bought the Scout in California in 2004 where it has been here in sunny Tucson Arizona ever since. This is as truly a rust free Scout as you will find anywhere. I have poked and prodded everywhere and there is no indication of anything but dirt and surface rust. Not even a pinhole of rust in the body, loor pans, r anywhere else. That's the most important thing to me when I am buying a restoration project (I hate rust).
The engine is a 350 SBC GM crate motor with less than 10,000 miles on it. The engine has an aluminum intake with an edelbrock 4 barrel carb and full header dual exhaust. Trans is a rebuilt Turbo400 with I believe a Dana transfer case. Rear end is a Ford 9 inch. Interior looks stock to me but I'm not certain what it looked like from the factory. The seats are upholstered very nicely and are surprisingly comfortable. Has carpeting which appears to be original.
Mechanically I have found no issues with the engine. In my opinion it is way more engine than this little Scout needs. I haven't tried it but it would not surprise me if it could pull the front wheels off the ground. The transmission is leaking fluid, ut I believe it to be a seal or gasket. Brakes are mechanical shoe brakes which are horrible. They are enough to stop you, ut with the big 31x10.5 tires they should be upgraded to power brakes. All the gauges work: fuel, il, emp, peedo. The speedo is off because it was never corrected for the larger tires. My wife says the brake lights do not work all the time, ut I have not checked it out myself. The only dents on the body are at the front of the removable top and the rear wheel panels. It appears someone tried clearancing the tires by bending the wheel well lips in. Everything is easily repairable in my opinion.
Overall a fantastic start for a rockcrawler, unting rig, r whatever. Note the title the winner will receive shows 125,000 actual miles on the title, ut the odometer in the vehicle shows 8,500. Please call me with any questions prior to bidding. Thank you, odd (520) 403-6412
