The Story:
I've ownedvintage 4WDsfor 34+years, y first was a 1970 FJ55, 've owned just about every kind of old off road rig you can think of from 1941 on and loved them all. This sweet oldScout 800A came from a local estate sale (I bought 3 of his vintage 4x4s) with 58K miles, he previous owneris retired,hebuilt this rig for his daughter to run around town in.I was able to speak with thePO which is how I got some of the info below though I'm sure I'm missing stuff. This is a really, eally, ice ol' Scout, ot a pro restoration but he spent an enormous amount of time making everything work the way it should, ook good etc, his is an excellent all around runner/driver and it turns heads everywhere you go. This Scout has a fresh rebuild on the 345 V8 (and just about everything else)has4 newold school bias ply Power King mud/snowtires on factory 15" wheels, ew shocks front/rear and is equipped with factory POWR-LOK posi rear diff. The body is super straight, ail gate and floorsareexcellent in every way. The dash is uncut, lass is excellent, eats are super nice, as 2 fuel tanks (also includes an extra tank, ot shown) original radio, nterior is bed lined, ico lock, ncludes extra parts, ew weather stripping for the doors etc. The 4 spd shifts great, lutch, rakes, arking brake, verything was built to be safe and driven, t looks like there is very little on this rig he did not go through. I have no documentation on the miles but after driving it I do not question the odometer. The bigV8starts instantly, reat oil pressure, dles smooth and quiet, o smoke, uns cool,tons ofpower, teers tight, hifts perfect, racks down the highwaydead onat 60mph and puts a big "SE" grin on my faceevery time I driveit. Everything looks very correct under the hood, actory oil bath air cleaner, lean and unmodified. The rust issues with these rigs are well known but this one issuper clean inside, ut and underneath. There's not a single dent on the skid plate which is unheard of here in Colorado where our back roads are carved out of solid stone. If you want an original, weet heart of a Scout to drive, oveand preserve as is, his is it. This is a 50 year old 4X4 truck and as you would expect there are some things here and there that are less than perfect. There are a couple places on the hood that are "discolored - faded" (see photos) there is a little black overspray here and there, t will buff off, here is a little spot of peeling paint under the drivers side fender emblem (see photos) There is a little noticeable body work on the inside of the tailgate (email for photos) The one thing this rig really needs right now is a new muffler, he "cherry bomber" on it is rusted out (see photos) overall this rig is excellent, ot perfect, ut a great driver and it will make someone very happy to own it Please call me with questions or offers.
