Description of 1974 International Harvester Other

1974 IH light line 500 (1 or 1.5 ton) dump truck.
Restore, ork truck, arm truck, at rod?
345 V8 2bbl., speed manual transmission.
Solid axle leaf sprung front, ually rear - not sure what type or ratio.
13840 lb max GVW.
PTO driven hydraulic dump bed. Bed is in solid usable condition. 10 feet by 7 feet. Dual position tailgate. By Morgan Trailer Manufacturing Co., enna.
The truck runs pretty strong. During the time I used it I replaced/recored the radiator, eplaced various hoses, lternator, aster cylinder, ater pump, uel filters, nd fuel pump.
One of the brake lines is blown and the brakes are non-operational.
The body and interior are about what you'd expect from a truck this old - especially an old work truck - an IH! Most of em were worked to death! That being said, t has the usual IH rust around the doors, ockers, enders, indshield, tc. The floors were patched at some previous point in time, nd I tried to convey the affected areas via the photos I took today. Some patchwork on the pass. side fender and hood hinge area. Hood opens/closes properly, o problems. The seat was also redone at some point. The dash pad is cracked and the metal dashboard has rust. Most of the guages "work" (if you are familiar with these trucks then you understand!). The headlamps, ash lights, ipers and directionals work. I don't think the running lights/brake lights do. The driver's side window is off the track, nd the passenger side is kinda squirelly, ut there is no broken glass. Nice Buyers toolbox.
Bolt-on 2" receiver tube (pictured).
The paint and "bodywork" aren't real pretty or fantastic - you could say it has character or patina or whatever - but the cab is actually still pretty solid.
The frame is rock-solid and hardly even has surface rust.
Tires are 7.50 x 17, ront split rims, ot sure about the rears. They do hold air but are showing signs of age and treadwear.
The bed raises a little higher than in the photo, ut today would only go that far - might be sticky or need a fluid top-off.
No lineset ticket :/
The truck is in pretty much the same condition as when I purchased it seven or eight years ago minus the brake issue. I used it for a few years, ot done with it and parked it, tarting and moving it every once inawhile to make sure things still worked. It's paid for itself and now it's time to clean up a little bit.
Please ask ANY and ALL questions BEFORE bidding!
Vehicle is located in Akron, hio, o please make arrangements accordingly.
Clean Ohio title in hand!
Sold as-is where-is with no warranty. PLEASE READ - THIS VEHICLE WILL NEED TO BE TOWED/TRANSPORTED. I will be assisting with loading. IT IS NOT CURRENTLY ROADWORTHY so don't be under the assumption that you can put a brakeline on, leed it, nd be on your way - I would still consider the truck to unsafe to drive.
The truck is also for sale locally, o I reserve the right to end the auction early if someone shows up with cash. As far as payment, nonrefundable $200.00 deposit via Paypal is to be made within 48 hours of auction close, nd the remainder of the winning bid to be paid in cash only within 7 days of auction close. I can work something out regarding pickup of the vehicle, ut please be reasonable!
This a lot of truck - restore it, se it on the farm or homestead, ut it back on the road, se parts or drop it and chop it and make a unique custom! Wouldn't be to difficult to convert to 4x4 either. Simple, ld-school, asy to work on!
I uploaded the maximum number of pictures that I could on Ebay, o if you need more please feel free to contact me.
Again - If you have any questions, lease don't hesitate to ask. You can contact me through Ebay or in person via text/voicemail - 330 524 6244.
Thanks for looking!

One note: The dump bed does have dents, idges and a few small quarter/half-dollar size punctures in the floor from 40 years or so of use. I used it this way and never had any issues. No rust through whatsoever. Thanks again!
