Description of 1977 International Harvester Scout

I'm selling my 1977 International SCOUT II . The car was originally in Arizona until early 2000 when it was purchased by a collector in Illinois. The scout was rust free. He had the paint redone in 2009 in its original tan and repainted the white top. I purchased the vehicle on his death in may of 2012 and have put approximately 5k miles on it over the past few summers. I have a stack of records dating from new to the mid 80s. All original sheet metal inside and out and a very straight and clean body. The under carriage is rock solid with absolutely no holes or rot. Most of he faculty under coating has worn off. The original skid plates are 100% intact and in solid shape. Door sills and jams are rust free. Interior seats and carpets are all original. In their green and tan checked material. The drivers seat has some minor splitting at stitching but the passenger and the rear seat are in good shape. I had a small custom made rear jump seat covered in the original material to allow two small kids a seat in back if need be. The radio is functioning . the interior lights. lights etc all work. Brakes are sound and the tires are OEM style on/off road similar to the original spare. I have docs and owners material when the vehicle is new as well as the original build sheet that is still affixed to the glove box door. A few of the items are u legible but this was a well optioned scout from the factory. 345 V8Automatic Transmission shits strong and smooth 4x4 fully functional and works well Factory air conditioning was working this summer well however the fan switch failed and I did not replace it. I did have theAC serviced at the beginning of summer. I would be happy to provide a switch for the Ac for the new buyer. Currently has black wall on/off road tires that mimic the OEM tires. I also have a set of white walls That are included in the sale. I have the original IH DOOR . glove and center console lock key as well as a few other beat IH bits. I store it and only drive it in the summer months to the beach and back and around town. Last summer I removed the hard top for the first time ever. As per the owners manual instructions. It was a lot of fun to cruise around town and definitely had many compliments on the truck. Things I've done since owned: Replaced the OEM radiator with a new aluminum OEM fit radiator. 600$ Tune up . new plugs wires etc. currently has its original OEM electronic ignition which works well. New dual exhaust that mimicked the OEM dual exhaust that the truck came with. New battery fuel filter and a few other misc bits. For a 1977 it drives fairly well. not a real highway cruiser as the gear ratio is too low but a great around town to the shows etc. This would make a perfect scout for a collector or as a fun summer car. I would not drive it in the winter as the body is too good to let the sale ruin what is a very rare and clean scout. The interior is in pretty incredible shape for its age there is a slight crack on the dash but all the plastic moldings and shift surrounds are In excellent shape. The tow bumper is sturdy and sound and it can easily tow a small boat m. camer or trailer. There as few scratches on the rear bumper around the hitch ball. Mechanically the scout runs well and the dual exhaust sounds good too. It's not loud by any means but it does have a little runner which is fun. The scout does not have any aftermarket items installed except the rear jump seat which looks like something the factory did. I had that and the seat belts professionally installed and the seat made and covered at great expense. That makes this scout a great fun in the sun truck for a plus 4 family. As it can safely seat 4 adults and two children. Kids love the rear jump seat and is the most popular seating position when the sun is out !!
