This is a 1960 International Harvester METRO Van. We bought it from a great couple of guys at Grenade Motorsports. eBay will not let me insert their links, but Google Grenade Motorsports and also check them out on YouTube to see this Metro being built! This truck is AWD so it can be used as a hunting/camping vehicle, a Retail Kiosk, a Movie prop or even a food truck! Grenade Motorsports specializes in Body Swapping HEMI vehicles and Ford Coyote engines; they do great work. They were the first to take AWD Hemi Durango vehicles from 2004-2009 and swap the bodies on them, for Vintage International Harvester Pickup trucks. They've built six Hemi AWD vehicles based on the 04-09 Durango chassis and let me just say- These things are GREAT! This is the first on a METRO van; no small task. They started with a good Late model donor Durango with the 5.7L Hemi and AWD. They removed the Durango body and pulled the 5.7 Engine. Then they measured everything and replaced anything that needed replaced. All new engine gaskets from top to bottom, inside and out. New tune up parts, plugs, wires, fluids, belt, anything and everything it needs, it gets. They pulled the body from the vintage chassis and married the two together, retaining ALL THE MODERN SUSPENSION, WIRING, BRAKES, EVERYTHING! We leave everything stock-The underneath of this thing is modern! It has factory Durango wiring harness-and the factory cooling system remains, they deleted the clutch fan and install an upgraded electric fan unit, the clutch fans rob horsepower, and this thing has power! This chassis has Four Wheel Disc Brakes, independent front suspension, Four Wheel Drive,, a Four Link Rear suspension with Coil springs and front & Rear sway bars- ALL FACTORY STOCK Durango so you can buy all the parts for this truck, from your local auto parts store! No hunting for rare parts- this is basically a 2004-09 Vehicle! This has the on board engine Diagnostics OBDII port, Everything that Dodge gave it from the factory. Automatic transmission with tow haul button and high and low range transfer case. It also haspower steering, power brakes- Everything from the factory Durango! Proper Headlights with High and Low beam, brake lights, turn signals- Everything works from the factory steering column, including the horn and the Cruise. They installed a K&N Shorty cold air intake and a Flowmaster muffler, for more power, more noise. But- this thing isn't obnoxiously loud either. It sounds like a modern Hemi truck throttling down the road. It has Tilt, Cruise Controland even the AC can beoperational rather easily because the factory Air Compressor is installed on the engine. Right now it has available Heat & Defrosters. Heater fan needs to be turned/fused. And is has wipers, but they will need replaced. Any qualified shop could add AC because half the work is done and the compressor is on the engine. The front seats are comfy and fully adjustable, ready for the long trips. The rear seat can be removed by pulling two little levers. There are THREE 12V power ports in this truck, so that you can CHARGE YOUR PHONE or power anything, really. It was built it for fun. It was built it for POWER. They built it for modern reliability. And built it for maintenance simplicity. The Metro comes with replacement glass for the front right windshield, and two side windows. Currently has one glass side window and one plexi. Also comes with a rubber windshield gasket kit for all the windows, so whether you want to keep the current paint/patina, or do a full on restoration paint job, the window rubber comes with the vehicle. ****The bike in the photo is not included with the vehicle, only there to show cargo area available.**** What could YOU do with it?
