Description of 1993 Jaguar XJS XJR-S

The Jaguar XJR-S was a very specialcar that was only offered for sale in the United States in 1993. Only fifty coupes and fifty convertibles were built and sold. The coupe carried a staggering price of $73,000 when new. These cars were hand assembled by Jaguar Sport, joint venture between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw racing. They were built in the same facility as the fastest car in the world at that time, he XJ220. The engine was unique to this model as were all other driving components such as steering, rakes, uspension and transmission.

This is #17 of the fifty coupes built and I am the second owner; my boss bought it new. I have known and ridden in the car since new and it has a genuine 67,xxx miles. I bought it about a year and a half ago and have used it as a daily driver in the non-winter months. I have driven it approximately 7,000 miles in the past fifteen months. The car has never been wrecked or rusted and has been well maintained as a driver. Over the years, t has been occasionally driven in the winter. The paint is 99% original and is presentable but shows scratches, wirls and door dings. There are some rust bubble forming at the front dogleg. The interior condition is commensurate with its mileage and shows some wear but is in generally good condition. The wood veneer on the console has delaminated but trim is good elsewhere. All gauges function as they should. The parking brake light randomly goes off and on for a few weeks at a time and burned bulb warning light flashes periodically even though all lights are functioning.

The engine runs great and does not smoke or leak. The trans shifts well and brakes seem fine. Hard right turns will occasionally elicit a rattling or clunking in the rear suspension. The original TWR racing style steering rack was difficult to use for my boss so we replaced it with a standard XJS steering rack. The TWR rack was carefully removed and boxed and will go with the car.The heater works well but the a/c does not blow cold.

This is a very special car which is also aunique and fun driver. In recent collector valuation circles, he XJR-S has been singled out as a car whose value is on the upswing. Although this car is not a show car, t is a car you could enjoy and improve while its value grows. I have known this car since new and driven it extensively over the past year and a half so please don't hesitate to ask any questions. As with any carits age, t is being sold as-is. Full payment would be expected within seven days of the auction's end. I can store the car up to thirty days at no cost. I can help with shipping if needed but the cost will be born by the buyer. Thank you for your interest and good luck!
