Description of 1989 Jaguar XJS |
| This auction is for a very low mile 1989 Jaguar XJS V12. It has just over 39. 00 original miles. which is pretty unusual for a car of its age. The car looks decent. no rust. and a clean California title in hand. The car comes with a blue leather interior. with a cream headliner. all original factory interior. The interior does show wear. the seats are worn. but no holes. and are still firm and comfortable. the heated seat option functions well. The dash does have some sun damage (see pictures) but overall still decent looking and totally functional. the center consol wood trim does have some cracking and sun wear. The driver side interior is missing the pillar trim (see photos). All of the gauges work properly. and look good. The air conditioning isn’t functioning. but the heater does. The car also has had an after market Alpine radio/CD player installed. all the speakers work. The exterior paint does have a loss of clear coat and fading around most of the car and there are a few dings in both the doors. that being said. the body in general nice shape. There are a few chips in the expected areas. near the wheel arch and the very front of the car. The car shows no evidence of being involved in any collisions. Over all the paint and body is functional and looks good at first glance. with a little work could be very nice. All of the exterior lights work. all the turn signals. and hazard lights work properly. The engine and drive train are factory. and with very low miles. just over 39. 00 original miles. The car is a factory 5. 3 liter V12 mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission by GM. Engine is very smooth. feels strong. transmission shifts smooth but positive. Car starts easily. runs at the correct temperature. reads good oil pressure. and feels the way it should. The XJS came from the factory with disc brakes all round. The ABS light is on. on the dash. it may need a sensor. that being said the car stops fine. there is no wobble under braking. and no noises from the braking system and the pads look good. The drivers side automatic seat belt does not move but the belts are useable. The car has a brand new battery. The car drives well. It is equipped with the factory option crosslace style road wheels. and the tires are almost new. lots of tread. The car does not wander on the road. there is now knocks or bonks. no exhaust noises that shouldn’t be there. and handles the way it should. Power windows wind up and down. and the doors open and shut with the correct alignment. The car has been driven lightly by adult owners. and has a clean California title in hand.
