Description of 1989 Jaguar XJS

Jaguar XJS 1989 5. 3L V12 - Original Black - EXCELLENT **NO RESERVE**I am reluctantly having to sell my beloved Jag because of a recent acquisition that doesn't allow me to keep it. I'm a Jag collector. with multiple older vehicles that I personally care for and work on. I came across a deal I simply couldn't pass. which means one has to go to make room for an other. This truly marvelous vehicle was recently bought by me in CA for two main reasons (outside my love for these cars. which I know inside out): its impeccable body condition and its amazing mechanical condition. especially for a 163k miles car. Since buying it. I've gradually performed a very detailed and extended tune-up:* harmonic balancer installed* upper shock bushings* brand new belts (all four)* thermostats* throttle gaskets* throttle linkage adjustment* lower radiator mounts* lower and upper radiator hose* crankshaft position sensor* oil filter and oil change. Mobil 1 10W40* transmission flush and new fluid* transmission filter and gasket* transmission mount* a/c compressor* fuel filter and fuel screen* ignition wires* spark plugs. NGK V-Power TR5* Marelli rebuilt distributor capWith the exception of the cap and the compressor. all parts replaced are brand new Jaguar parts. not aftermarket junk. With the exception of the harmonic balancer. all other repairs were performed preventatively and as part of my regular maintenance - not because of the way the car was running. or any other problems. It's just what I do when I buy a new old car. It is in mechanically astonishing good condition (engine and transmission): * starts right up and every time* idles silently and smooth at 700rpm* accelerates effortlessly and strong* never overheats. even under the blazing sun stuck in traffic on the Bay Bridge for 1h15mins* passed California emissions with flying colors* does 17. 5 MPG on the highway* shifts on point and smoothlyAlso:* cosmetically great* no rust WHATSOEVER* correct ride height. smooth but solid suspension* doesn't burn any fluids. has no leaks* breaks fast* handbrake works* battery charges and keeps charge* electric windows. mirrors. wipers. lights. blinkers. cabin lights. cigar lighter. puddle lights. stop lights. central key lock: all work as they shouldNow. for the caveats:My next project. which I'll be unable to fulfill due to selling. was the main repair this car was in need of: front end work. Please read again: the Jag is severely misaligned and the left-hand front wheel is pushed back. making driving it at high speeds unsafe. Even just turning left causes vibrations. For this reason alone. I would by all means NOT recommend driving anywhere far before this is addressed. The car is best driven locally and repaired. or towed. Also. it is missing a spare tire. The rim is there. but no tire. Additionally:* cruise control assembly was completely removed by the PO* ABS light is on. my guess is a faulty speed sensor* A/C is inoperable but the compressor is new. so it's a matter of recharging* the right-hand back wheel well has suffered a dent (see pictures)* the interior needs some attention: the wood in the middle console is chipped and missing pieces and the switch bezels are looseIn conclusion. this is a very solid XJS. Whoever has the ability to fix the front end problem and address the minor issues above. will end up with an amazingly maintained. always garaged. true Californian XJS. Title is clean in hand. CA smogged. Free and happy to answer any questions and show/drive the car. PS. California registration and sticker paid in full until October 2015.
