Description of 1953 Jaguar XK

This Jaguar is an older restoration and needs very little minor cosmetics. (Paint is Black Acrylic Lacquer) . The builders were professionals. (a 1st class Machinist for over 50 years and a Aircraft Mechanic for over 40 years. ) this car was purchased in 1959 and completely dismantled to start the restoration. All questionable metal was removed and replaced with galvanized panels which were precision fitted and bolted in place. (No cut-chop-weld). Since the original drive train was unable to be rebuilt. nbsp; research was done for the best and strongest 6-cylinder engine made. (292 cu. in. GMC bolted to a Corvette Aluminum Case T-10 4-Speed with a Ford 9-inch rear end with a 275 ratio) This combination is indestructible. This engine has been known to run over 500. 00 miles before a rebuild and then only because of the loss of power. ENGINE: Bored to 300 cu. in. - all new eternal parts - TRANSMISSSION gear ratios: 1st 3. 42 - 2nd 2. 28 - 3rd 1. 45 - 4th 1. 00 all new gears installed by S&K Speed Racing in 2009 - REAR END narrowed and splined by Curry Industries. There is approximately 300 miles on the new transmission - clutch - pressure plate - fly wheel (The previous new transmission had high gear ratios - (80 mph in 1st at 3500 rpm) - ruined the clutch - only option was to change ratios with new gears. ) Custom made radiator - never overheats - New 6. 00 x 16 wide whitewall tires and tubes. This Jaguar out performs and is the most reliable of any Jaguar. If you want the best reliable Jaguar for an everyday driver. nbsp; this is the one. Sounds like a Jaguar but runs awesome. (Any part from the engine to rear end available at any local parts store). Payment to be made by a bank transfer of funds. Buyer will be responsible for pickup and/or shipping.
