Description for Jaguar E-Type 1963

1961-1963 XKE are the early Series I and are considered the most desirablehistorically.

Most bidders already know the XKEs in the last five years have been increasing in value each and everyyear. The car here in this eBay listing comes with a British Heritage Certificate and has been repainted in its original color and has not only had a full restoration but has had the upgradesthat make it a safe and comfortable driving tour car.

Thefollowing is a detaileddescription of the car.

Series I XKE’s with welded louvres are always a joy view but when you look at this 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I OTS in the original color of Opalescent Maroon and Biscuit interior. British Heritage Certificate. Previous ownership known back to early 1990s. Always a hit at the local shows.

In 2013 from a private owner in California. The car had a full restoration in the 1990s and still shows very well.

When delivery was taken in 2013 it was sent to a Jaguar expert who went through the car, inspected all systems and performed service as needed. Full report available to new buyer only.

In early 2017 the car was taken to the next level with a thorough mechanical refresh by a very well known Jaguar shop.

The entire front end of the car was removed.

New side rails were installed and all systems more easily accessed at this point were replaced or rebuilt, such as front suspension components, steering rack, etc.

The rear suspension/drive cradle was also removed and serviced including brakes and seals.

The engine was thoroughly inspected and found to be in excellent condition except for the carburetors that were completely rebuilt. The clutch has also been upgraded to the later 9.5 inch diaphragm design.

Since the restoration the car has been meticulously maintained as evidenced by the overall appearance of the body, engine compartment and undercarriage. This car is not being represented as equal to a freshly restored, concours level car.

The 3,946 low miles on the odometer (2,100 since 2013) are likely due to the odometer reset at the time of the restoration.

Any original parts, replaced with upgraded items, are included with the sale.

Safely, Reliability and Cosmetic upgrades include:

215/65/15 Firestone performance tires with shaved sidewalls and red-line stripes added by Diamond Back.
