JAGUAR BUILT 1931 WOLSELEY HORNET SWALLOW BODIED SPECIAL BOAT TAIL ROADSTER-Raced Sports Car Club of America SCCA #601 [see tag approx 1949 issue]Wolseley Hornet sports with Swallow Coach-building body. ******Swallow Coach Works was William Lyons company before he formed Jaguar cars. He built side cars for motorcycles and progressed to sports bodies on other manufacturers chassis. Never tried to pop out as I an not an expert. but the aluminum is not split. Steel motorcycle type fenders are solid. Original paint. Red [still bright and Motor car magazine ads from that time show car offered as "Christmas Red"] which can be seen in places under the British Racing Green repaint. Raced with MG TC engine. long gone. -Only have original disassembled OHC 6 engine without intake carburetors. Also have TransmissionAlso have Front fenders shown removed in 1 picture. nbsp; and headlights not shown. as raced. Wood floor has deteriorated but door panels and seat bottoms are intact and nice. Car is now garage stored. pictures are of car when out of garage last year. Connecticut Titled as 1938 Wolseley Hornet 2 Seat Roadster and SCCA Tag 1937. as when brought over after WWII. by GI who did not know actual year as it was even rare then. Very rare car. seldom offered anywhere.
