Description of 1990 Jaguar XJS

Selling my 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 CLASSIC COLLECTION EDITION Convertible. These cars are rare to find in good condition. without rust. and with all the hydraulic top system operational. They will appreciate quickly and will be without a doubt expensive classics. Please read the complete description and scroll down to see 80 high definition pictures and the AUTOCHECK REPORT. I bought the car from Justice Harry C. Martin in North Carolina. He is a retired justice and cannot longer drive. the car was in storage for quite some time. His daughter. who is an actress and writer. had the car in California. then moved to Miami Beach. She then transferred the car to her father and moved to Italy. The car sat in a garage. I did not get all the records from them. as Justice Martin is an older person and the daughter was not here to look for the papers. According to what they told me they spent conservatively $13K in recent repairs. The most important items on the car. like the engine. transmission. gauges. top. and all the hydraulic top system are operational. The top was also replaced. which is an expensive repair. The interior is in great condition. the body and paint are good. The AC is all original. blower works. temperature control works. but needs to be recharged. I assume this is all it needs. as it is the original R12 system. never upgraded to R134A. According to the previous owner the rack and pinion. injectors. etc. were all replaced recently. However. it leaks power steering fluid. probably from sitting for so long the seals start to leak. The car starts right up. gauges work. speedo works. but odometer stopped turning from 69999 to 70000. According to what I was told. it has at most 71K miles. I have no way of knowing if this is correct. but judging from the condition of the car and the reputation of the person who sold it to me. I assume it is correct. This is the perfect candidate to restore it to new condition. There is very little surface rust. paint seems to be original. no accident history. and the body has some minor dents according to the age and use. It has a couple of small dents and some scratches on the left side and there was a minor dent on the left quarter that broke the tail light lens. I repaired it temporarily and installed a new lamp and lens. My intentions were to repaint the whole car and do a complete restoration. The wheels are the original lattice wheels. chromed. and the chrome is coming off. I bought an additional set of Lattice wheels on ebay. paid $100 a piece. You can refinish the ones on the car now or for you can have the ones I bought for only $300 over the auction ending price. Again. I will not include them for free. but for a fraction of what I paid for them. These are rare. very difficult to find. Car is sold as is. no warranty of any kind. The car starts. runs. shifts. and feels great. Looks awesome as you can see in the pictures. but it is a 24 year old vintage car. not perfect. Buy it as a project car to complete and take to shows. If you want a 100% perfect car. this is not for you. These cars can cost in excess of $20K in perfect condition. and I really think they will be a lot more expensive in the next few years. I believe the car needs very little. but that depends on the level of restoration and perfection that you have. The minimum I would do would be the AC. power steering leak. and minor body work and paint. Maybe $1000 worth of work? I have seen many of these cars and most are rusted. tops neglected. interiors need redone. not to mention electrical and mechanical problems. I have a copy of the original title that will go with the car. Car is now titled in my name. in Florida. Paint code is NDP. interior code is AEE. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my knowledge. Please see my feedback and buy it with confidence.
