Description of 1990 Jeep Wagoneer Grand Wagoneer

1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - Excellent Condition
I purchased the Wagoneer from a Oregon seller back in 2010 and had it shipped to California. I believe he was the second owner of the Jeep and had bought it himself as a restoration project but never got around to getting it off the ground. The vehicle wasfairly mechanically sound but the paint was badly oxidized.
Upon receiving the Jeep I took it straight to my mechanic who over the course of about 6 -8 months, ent over everything from front to back and replaced a lot of components, ainly emissions related items so it could pass California SMOG. We put in new brakes, new ECM, new suspension lift, ew tires, ew ignition coil, ew rotor, ew plugs, ew wires, new oil pressure gauge and sending unit, ew SMOG pump, MOG exhaust gas recirculation lines, nd a new head gasket. (I am sure I am forgetting some stuff but I have all the paperwork for what was done). We also did a complete transmission overhaul, carburetor rebuild, ade repairs to the power seats (both work as they should), epaired the dreaded tailgate window key switch and had the radiator removed, leaned and reinstalled. We replaced the OEMstereo and installed a Alpine AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth receiver and replaced all the speakers with upgraded, ut OEM sized units front and rear.
Once all themechanical stuff was done, took it to Riteway Autobody in Fountain Valley and had them strip the vehicle almost to its frame and professionally paint it the original factor color. They removed everything including the glass and all the body trim components. We removed the woodgrain wrap and filled all the holes and we removed 2 rust spots, ust underneath the rear cargo area side windows - a fairly common rust spot on the Wagoneers. We simply ground off the little rust that was there but no other rust was found. This was a $6000 paint job and I have the paperwork to prove it. During the painting process we replaced all the door gaskets, oof rack gaskets, indow gaskets, tailgate trim gasket - basicallyanything that was rubber and had to be removed in order to paint the Jeep. We also replaced many of the plastic trim components and light lenses at the same time. Almost allof the replacement parts that I purchased were OEM and obtained from Team Grand Wagoneer. After it was painted, y original plan was to purchase the woodgrain wrap kit from Team Grand Wagoneer (or maybe I did purchase it) but after seeing the paint job and how awesome it came out, decided to not reapply the woodgrain wrap.
Once the paint was done, took it to Roberto's Auto Upholstery in Costa Mesa and had him remove the headliner and straighten it. It had seen some water damage due to the leaking roof rack gaskets and being up in Oregon where it rains a lot. I also had them re-wrap the sun visors, nd install a brand new carpet kit in the front driver and passenger seating area. He also fabricated replacement rear cargo panels and wrapped them with new vinyl and OEM carpeting as well as re-carpet the rear cargo area.
The Jeep represented about a 2 year project for me after I first bought it and after all was said and done, he ultimately became a once a month driver. I am now parting ways with her as I simply have too many vehicles now and need to make room in the garage and don't want the Jeep to sit outdoors.
Mechanically, he Jeep runs fantastic! It does not burn oil and after sitting for 3+ years in my garage, here is not one drop of oil or fluid underneath it.
Things that I know that DO NOT work:
  • Windshield Washer Fluid - Front & Rear. I don't know if it's the pump or another issue, ut the rear nozzle andtubing was replaced when it was painted.
  • Dashboard Rear Window Up/Down Switch. This switch never worked, o my mechanic and I rewired the rear tailgate switch and rebuilt it to work with the key. The key switch on the tailgate works perfectly and as it should.
  • Rear Window Wiper. (Works intermittently but not all the time).
  • Cruise Control. (Never worked).
  • Fog Lamps. (Never worked). I have a brand new replacement set but never got around toinstalling them. They will be included in the sale.
Other than that, he Jeep is great. It looks great and runs great. Like I said, have ALL the paperwork on it and a record of everything that was done. This documentation will be sold with the vehicle.
If you have any specific questions or would like me to send you additional photos of specific things, lease ask and I will email them to you or host them up on DropBox.
