Description of 1968 Jeep Other |
1968 Jeep M715 4x4 with a clear Ohio title The trucks were made in 1967-69 for the military. This m715 is completely and METICULOUSLY modified with no expense spared. The only items that are original on this truck are the body and the frame. A new, omplete drive-train, rake system, iring system, uel system has been installed with detail and attention to quality and performance. The truck has never been off-road and currently has 700 miles on it from driving to shows and never off road driven. However, t was/is built to off road. The body and frame were 100% disassembled and professionally sandblasted. Milspec epoxy primer was applied and then Milspec C.A.R.C. (chemical agent resistant coating) was applied. This paint is currently used on military vehicles such as the hummer. The inside and bottom of the cab has also been RHINO lined for superior durability. Original folding "Troop" seats have been installed in the bed of the truck which was designed to transport personnel. The drive-train consists of a 502 horse power crate motor (ZZ502) with a serpentine belt system and Edelbrocks fuel injection system. The exhaust is custom and is Stainless Steel. The transmission is a HD TH400 automatic built to withstand 700HP. The transfer case is a twin sticked NP205, he strongest made. The axles are 2 ½ ton Rockwell with OEM brand lockers in the front and rear. The lockers give power to all 4 wheels, nlike your typical 4x4 which only provide power to 2 wheels. The wheels are double beadlocks which allow you to air down the tire pressure without the tire slipping on the rim. This will benefit you with a greater "footprint", or better traction in adverse conditions. The tires are Michelin XML radials and are 46"tall. Tilt steering, ower steering, nd power brakes have been installed. Custom Stainless Steel brake lines were used so they will last a lifetime. In addition, very nut, olt, asher used is Stainless Steel so they would not rust. A 12,000 lb. Hydraulic winch is on the front. Custom springs were made and ranchero adjustable shocks (adjustable from the cab) were installed. Electrical Autometer gages were used for accuracy and longevity. MasterCraft Camouflage seats were installed with a 5 five point harness for comfort and safety. The electrical system is a water resistant system from Painless Wiring. A PSC power steering pump powers the Hydraboost power brakes, winch, power steering and Hydraulic assist .You can turn with one finger ! Some Pictures show the tow bar attached to the axles on the truck. Two pins out and the tow bar is off . I can include the tow bar for an additional cost if you need it.How does it drive and ride ? Like a factory 3/4 ton pick u, traight down the roa, nd like a dream ................ Finally, his is a one of a kind truck that involved a lot of thought and design before the actual build, iterally hundreds of hours. It's not just show but will go. The Truck could not be built for the starting bid. It probably is the nicest modified M715 on the planet . I have nearly 300 pictures of the build for the serious buyer. Only reason I am selling is to buy a viper ACR extreme.
