Description of 1979 Jeep Other |
1979 J10 10-4 shortbox 4x4. 360 engine with rare 3 speed manual transmission. No quadratrac. this one has lockouts. DRIVETRAIN-Runs great. Starts great everytime. Transmission shifts as it should and transfer case shifts and operates as it should. GLASS- All glass is good and not cracked or broken. TIRES- 31x10. 50x15 on truck. Spare is junk but it does have what I believe to be the original white spoke wagon wheels including spare. Tires on truck have decent tread but does have some weather checking. BODY- Paint is original but is worn. Bordeaux maroon. Has rust on bed seams(common around here). both floorboards could use patches(structure good). still has original rubber floormat under carpet. left front fender is rusted through(I don't understand this one. never seen one do this). both rear bed corners rusted. driver's side bed in front of wheel is dented. left rear fender flare is dented with a rip in it. top of tailgate dented but opens and closes fine. front bed bulkhead bowed towards cab. I believe this truck had a rollbar at one time as it has the holes on top of the bed. rocker panels on cab have some rust due to having running boards for most it's life. nbsp; "10-4" decals gone but you can see where they were(see pictures). CB is long gone. left rear tail light broken. all lights work except backup lights. gauges work except fuel gauge. seats may be original(driver's side seat cover has had some kind of a patch ironed on it or something). interior is dirty and needs cleaned. headliner is decent but has a hole in center maybe for a antenna cable or something. little dents and paint wear all over. Truck is in original form and has not been repainted as far as I can tell. HISTORY ON TRUCK- From what I can tell. I am the 3rd owner of truck. It was bought new through a dealer in Denver CO and dealer transferred to a dealer in Sturgis SD for delivery. The truck spent it's life in Deadwood SD and Newell SD. I believe the mileage is correct due to researching the background of truck. I have no proof so I will not attest to this. I was trying to locate the grill guard. roll bar. and CB radio from this truck but it is all long gone. Original owner had a cassette player installed and removed the roll bar to add wooden racks to bed. He couldn't remember the grill guard being removed. He is a 70 something year old man. I am starting the truck at the price I need to recover what I have in it. I also started this truck at a price that I thought was fair to the new buyer due to body repairs needed. I have had several J10. J20. and even a J20 ambulance. I am moving across the United States and can not take this truck with me. I kept this one hoping to be able to take it with me and restore this one. It just isn't feasible. I feel the $1500 starting price is a fair deal for this truck. I have driven this truck all over the Black Hills and I personally would not hesitate to drive the old jeep anywhere but that part is up to you. A $500 deposit is due through paypal within 24 hours of auction end. The remainder will be due in 7 days by certified money order. bank check. or other certified means. NO PERSONAL CHECKS! I WILL NOT TAKE REMAINDER THROUGH PAYPAL!Truck can sit at my residence free of charge until I move this spring. I do not charge storage fees or anything. I have a clear South Dakota title in my name that once truck is paid in full. will be mailed to you. I will also provide a bill of sale to buyer. You can call me pretty much any time with questions. picture or video needs. or whatever at 605-858-3400. Truck is located 2 miles south of I-90 at exit 61. I can drive to Flying J to meet shipper or they can pick up at my house. FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER. WORST I CAN SAY IS NO. I'M WILLING TO DEAL BUT I WILL NOT GIVE THE TRUCK AWAY. |
