Description of 1987 Jeep Wagoneer |
Here is a nice 1987 Grand Wagoneer. I bought it on the nostalgia factor since I had a few of them back in the day - I just do not have time to work on it. I believe that it's the original paint and it's pretty solid. There are a few spots on the rocker panels that are rusted through. but I think could be patched easily. The quarters have some rust by the lower lips and there is a spot on each front fender with bubbled paint. I rescued it after it sat for many years. I put over $1. 00 in the suspension. tires. and alignment - it goes down the road nice. I rebuilt the rear windows (plastic tracks) and the gate window. It has new window wipes all around. It's been taken care of all of it's life. The next stage of restoration would be spending some time sealing up everything that holds liquid - nothing leaks bad enough to not drive it. but it's very typical of that 360. I have a bunch of parts to seal up stuff. but I'm just not motivated to do it and need to purchase a new daily driver vehicle. so the toys need to go. The interior is very nice. Someone replaced the drivers seat portion and it doesn't quite color match. but it never bothered me. It's a dandy as it is. or it could be taken to that next level and made into a superb example. She's a little cold blooded where you have to pump the accelerator and there is a squeal on startup (sounds like alternator). but then the squeal quiets and she purrs. There are LOT's of new parts. including a new battery. new tires. new shocks. new joints. new ignition parts. muffler & Y pipe. etc. Lot's of time and money so far. but it's a good one to keep going. |
