Description of 1975 Jeep Other CJ-5

I have a 1975 Jeep CJ-5 up for a no reserve auction. It has a good running inline 6-cylinder engine. nbsp; I think its the small 232 cid. engine. because it has a the small carburetor on it. I don't know for 100% sure though. It does run good. but the valve cover leaks a little oil. Oil pressure gauge works and it holds good oil pressure. Amp gauge does not work. Heater is not hooked up. It has a 3-speed manual transmission that works good. Clutch is strong with no slipping. I have only driven the Jeep up and down an old road bed here at home to just check out the running gear at maybe 35 mph max. I have not driven it out on the road. The transfer case shifts as it should . the locking hubs are good. but I have not tried it actually in 4-wheel drive because of the mis-matched tire size from front to back. I have always heard you need the same size tires on a 4 wheel drive for it to work proper. The brakes are a little weak. but they do work. The Jeep has a starter button and kill switch on it now. but I have a new ignition switch that goes with it. It has a good battery in it. The frame is good on the old Jeep. but the body is rough. Previous owner attempted to bondo some places. but never finished sanding. Interior has had sheet-metal work over original metal in the bed part and floors. Someone has hacked up the light wiring harness. but I have 2 more light harnesses that are included also. New parts in the last 4 months include ignition module. alternator. belt. radiator and starter button. The starter is about 6 months old. All the seat belts are in the Jeep. seat frames are good. but the seats have some tears at the seams. It has no top. This Jeep would be great for farm / hunting / or off road use as is with minor work or a good parts / donor Jeep with a clear title in hand. Its a cheap Jeep. so what you see is what you get. It has a really good frame. but the body is rough. In my opinion its not worth restoring. but use it as is. It runs. stops and drives pretty good as is. Clear title in hand. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
