Description of 1984 Jeep Wagoneer

Clean, clear, original New Mexico title in hand. First registered in 1983 and subsequently registered to second owner in 1989. 2009 made me the third owner. I am employed by a licensed dealer in Farmington New Mexico. This is "my" vehicle, but will be sold through the "dealership" so that we can issue a 30 day temporary permit for transport. Please, if your truly interested take the time to fully watch the embedded YouTube videos. There is a wealth of information including good and bad stuff! Also, I have access to Central Dispatch if you need assistance with transportation in the US. The buyer will pay, in advance, the cost of transportation. I can help facilitate this with no markup. What I pay is what you pay! I will personally deliver this Jeep for free within 100 miles of 87402 zip code.
The Good:The Jeep runs out great and was very reliable during the making of the videos and running around the 20 miles or so it took to complete this listing. I think it could make a reliable daily driver once the draw gets fixed. Its has a six digit odometer that reads138,120 actua miles. An examination of the title also reveals actual miles. Its spent its entire life in New Mexico. New Mexico is very dry sunny climate. Rust is not an issue here! The 4x4 works! I posted a photo of the front wheel that dug out the sand to show you that the 4x4 works. When I engaged the 4x4 and climbed a sand hill the front right and rear left tires were driving. Another feature that is working the the cruise control. I have a demonstration of the cruise working in the test drive video.Once I decided to sell the jeep I took it to a local mechanic and had him do some maintenanceitems that included:
  • new tires
  • rebuild carb
  • removed and cleaned fuel tank
  • new plugs, wires, and ignition parts
  • oil change
  • new battery

The Bad:for a vehicle that is 35 years old I think its in good condition, but it isn't perfect. In my opinion whats holding this jeep back is the paint job. The body is in great shape, but the paint is fading and peeling and the simulated wood trim is faded badly. All of these jeeps have window regulator problems, and this one is not exception. I did not operate any of the windows or rear glass for fear that a window would go down and not come up like the rear passenger window that is stuck about 3-4 inches from the top. So we are clear please assume all regulators need repaired that way you are pleasantly surprised when they work instead of disappointed when they don't. The factory A/C components are present, but it doesn't blow cold. There is a parasitic draw. If the Jeep sits for 3-4 days the battery will be dead. Here is a list of some other things I noticed:
  • cracked windshield
  • oil pressure gauge inoperable
  • power door mirrors don't work in all directions
  • stereo doesn't work

The Price:I'm asking $5,900 for a few reasons. First, I think there are similar comparisons on Ebay that substantiate this asking price. Second, this listing is very descriptive and informative. A vehicle's condition is subjective with a vehicle of this age. You'll have clarity on what you think the condition and values are. Third, its NADA book value ranges between $9,850 and $32,500. fourth, this vehicle is finished depreciating and is actually appreciating due to the popularity of this iconic 80's family SUV.
