Description of 1983 Jeep CJ Laredo (SL)

For sale is a very original 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler Laredo in the rare "Deep Night Blue" color. This is a true barn find with original paint and nice patina. Runs and drives. Enjoy as-is or restore and you will have a very valuable Jeep. These Scramblers are as rare as they come in the Jeep world, only around 28,000 ever made. This one has never been restored so there is nothing to hide, no rust covered up.
The floors on this Jeep are immaculate, nothing more than minor surface rust. This is a one-owner since new ranch Jeep, and I was told always kept inside a garage. Needs a tune up but does run and drive. I rebuilt the carburetor and it idles at 650 rpm. Starts easily on first crank. Battery is new. Has original ignition key that also matches the hard door locks.
Lights and electrical work. Minor work needed on front passenger fender which is slightly rolled out. A good body man should be able to get it back to shape and not break the paint. Factory console has key but it’s lid bracket is broken. Clock doesn't appear to be running but I have not looked into it. Might just need a fuse. Low miles (all original) 102,000. Laredo seats need to be cleaned but are in pretty decent shape. Everything is original under the hood. Rear bumper is damaged but fixable. This will be a GREAT jeep to restore and won't take much. You don't find solid original Scramblers like this often.
Winning bidder must pay within three days by wire, or cash in person. Shipping is the buyers responsibility- I would suggest uship for transport. I am available to meet your shipper load the Jeep onto a truck. Jeep is located in Dallas, Texas.
Thank you

I have had a lot of questions about the Scrambler. Some answers: All original paint, with normal fading, scratches, chips etc for a 35 year old farm jeep. Some small areas of surface rust here and there on the body.Bed has some scratches and surface rust.No cancerous rust. 4WD and transmission are in good condition. Dash is uncut. Horn works. Some small tears in the seats. The bottom line is that this can be kept as is for the original patina, or it is a perfect candidate for a full restoration because it's so complete and has no major rust damage. Any other questions, please let me know.
