Description of 1986 Jeep CJ Laredo

Here is a NO RESERVE Auction and a rare opportunity to own a very rare Jeep. This is a very original, unmolested and very well preserved Jeep CJ-7. It is a 5 speed manual with just over 10k original documented and certified miles and has the much desired Dana 44 rear. It has PS, PB, Original Radio, Clock, Tach, and Factory A/C that blows ice-cold. It even has the factory optioned 20 gallon gas tank, tilt steering and cruise control! The interior looks like showroom new: original factory Laredo seats with stripes, original carpeting, center console, roll bar cover, optional roll bar saddle bags, and floors. The only paint work done to this Jeep was one small plug hole that has been repaired on the driver side and some very minor paint work on the hood and windshield frame. We have before and after pictures of everything done.

This Jeep is from an Estate where a father purchased it for his son, but soon after realized that it was too much car for a 16 year old boy. The father then gave the Jeep to his friend who was a car collector to store it until the boy was older. Fast-forward 15 years and the boy got the car back from the father's friend. He then used it for a bit and then sold it to me.

I put brand new 31" BFG All-Terrain tires that replaced the original dry-rotted tires it had on it when I purchased it. They sit on factory chrome Jeep Laredo wheels. The engine is matching-numbers and runs strong and currently has an after-market upgraded carburator. I do not have the original carburator, but factory original ones are available. The 4wd is working perfectly. Front and rear bumpers are original chrome Laredo bumpers along with the Laredo chrome front grill. The Laredo stripes have been replaced with new decals. Brown hardtop has the factory Gold/Bronze tint and has an after-market sunroof but is in excellent condition. There are a few scratches on the hardtop that have been touched up with matching paint that was mixed specifically for the hardtop.

The CJ-7 comes with all receipts since new including the factory owner's manual, books, and information. The title is clean and Carfax shows records up to current mileage. Also, this Jeep will be sold with the original AMC/Jeep Pre-delivery Inspection checklist and the original registration information from 12/1985.

Please understand that his Jeep represents the best of the best. It is the last year (1986) of the "true" AMC Jeeps according to many Jeep aficionados. AMC was purchased by Chrysler/MOPAR in 1987 and immediately changed the styling of the CJ over to the Wrangler. This is a late production CJ-7 with Dana 44 rear, 10k original miles, air-conditioning, and fully loaded with factory options. A true museum collector piece of automotive history!
