______________________________________________ I am selling my 1986 Jeep CJ7. I started to build this Jeep from the frame up 8 years ago. It is rust free and all steel with no sheet metal welding performed. I picked the axles from a earlier year as well as other parts such as the body & Mint doors that came off a rust free beauty, The axles are I believe 3.73 ratio. the motor is a Small Block V8 GM crate engine that has about 300 HP & 5,000 miles on it and roughly 500 miles since I built the vehicle ( that goes for the whole CJ as well). The transmission is a Jeep 4 speed that has a little play in the shifter but runs and shifts fine. The motor has a Edelbrock intake and air cleaner with a Holley Performer Carburetor and MT valve covers and custom dual exhaust. The tires are Wrangler MT/R 35X12.5R.15" and the rims are Dick Cepek including the spare with aftermarket fender flares at each wheel well.I have had it running well over 65 miles a hour with no wandering or pulling and it can go much faster Front and rear bumpers are custom hand built, the front has a Mile Marker 9,500 winch with 2 Fishing pole holders and the rear has a custom built spare tire carrier with spare and a Hi Lift Jack. The Diamond plate armor was either purchased ( the rear corners) or was custom cut and installed ( the sides and fender tops ) the two fender top diamond plate also has built in cup holders. The roof rack is a custom build using a Land cruiser rack that fits great. The suspension is Rough Country springs and shocks that are 3" lift. The brake lines are all stainless and all brake pads, shoes, reservoir, rotors and rubber lines were new when I built the Jeep. The interior (front & back seats, door panels and dash ) are in good shape and are original. The whole tub and roll bar was sprayed with tint-able bed liner ( Chrysler Get Green, same color as the body ) through out. The dash has after market gauges as well as factory, I rely on the aftermarket units to tell me what is going on. The removable roof is held on by locking clips and thumb screws and is easy to remove. The jeep has been in storage for the last 2 years and became too small for my family to take to the beach. It is not flawless; the wiring that all works could be cleaned up under the dash, there is a small water leak somewhere around the windshield, and the left blinker has to be shut off manually. I have not done anything to try and fix it because the water winds up on the bed liner and evaporates as well as a drip from the power steering box, not enough that is 2 years I have not needed to add fluid.... small stuff like that. As I said in the 6 years I drove it I did not put more then 500 miles on it, it was to and from the beach at Martha's Vineyard ( I trailered it to and from the island and to drop off in CT with Ken) The vehicle is painted and all graphics and stickers can be removed including Patrick Star, the hood ornament. I have recently built a second Chumbucket ( Named and themed by my children) which is a 88 HUMVEE, its the last picture. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. ______________________________________________ Here’s what some of our many customers have to say about Kaplan Cycles! I bought five motorcycles from Ken and plan to buy more. Great people, honest and professional. Looking forward to the museum opening. Best of luck to Ken and your people!” – John Tylawsky
“Great bike and great experience. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and made the transaction easy. The bike was just as advertised.” – John Gandy
"In this crazy world where 'buyer beware' has gotten completely out of hand it's a rarity to run into people like the Kaplans. The old school way of doing business is alive and well here. Honesty, customer satisfaction, lightning fast follow up and a love of motorcycles is how things are done here. Truly refreshing! We had a tiny hiccup with our transaction and they solved it faster than I thought was possible. Not only would I buy another bike from them but I would refer my Mom to these guys! Thanks to the whole Kaplan crew." - Ted Health, Motorcycle Aficianado
