Description of 1978 Jeep J10 45

OK, we have another UPDATE!The lady's son came over and got the truck STARTED!That's not all...he drove it around the block a few times! He says it is not shifting correctly, but it pulls itself around just fine so maybe the trans is better off than we thought?!Anyway, here is a link to hear the engine run.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKiZR-S3plM&feature=youtu.be

PLEASE SEE UPDATE TO DESCRIPTION. QUESTION ANSWERED FROM INTERESTED PARTY "IS THE TRANNY IN THE TRUCK, AND ARE THERE DENTS AND/OR RUST ON TOP OF THE CAB?"AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS 7/30/19

This is a real sleeper that I found out about recently.Absolutely straight as a pin!Vehicles really do not rust in Idaho, but this is a truly remarkable example of a well kept truck that is 41 years old.
It actually belongs to a very nice older lady that I have known for years.I will list what she says she knows about the truck. It was last driven in 2010.It has been repainted, not long before that. The truck was very lightly used, with some use as a rural postal vehicle. The rear view mirror is not attached, but it is there and in perfect condition. This Quadra Trac has the rear lock knob located inside the dash, really works well if you get stuck.(I had a 78 Cherokee with the same setup, and it was unstoppable. It has the 360 with Auto transmission, and according to her, the "tranny is out"The only worn spot I can find is the drivers side carpet, has a hole worn thru the carpet smaller than a paper plate.I have many more pictures than I could list, so if you have questions please ask.All four hubcaps are there. There is a small hold poked thru the rear facing part of the seat, probably by some tool or jack. The seat is perfect besides that. The pictures can attest to the really straight condition, there is a small dent inside the front panel of the bed, and a few minor dents on the edge of the tailgate, which you can see in the pictures. The truck will have to be trailered when picked up.Full payment of $2000.00 deposit required within 24 hours as well as full payment within 3 days.Title is clear.Anonymous bidding is enabled, you can bid without Sally knowing. :)From the Vin it appears that this is a Model 45 custom. (Longer Wheelbase) which would be optimal for a tow vehicle. It has 2 gas tanks. Also, another option they ordered was tilt steering.I do not know if it has cruise control. It is a real load hauler with a 6200# GVW load rating. This is a real opportunity for just about any genre, a full bore 4WD off road type truck, a tow vehile, or a show ready sporty truck that already is a head turner.Again, please feel free to ask questions, I will do my best to answer all of them and attach the questions to this listing if allowed by Ebay.

The 1978 Jeep J-Series trucks came in two basic models, with several divisions within each. The J-10s were in the half-ton line, with a 6,200 lbs. GVW and two wheelbase choices; 118.7 inches (Model 25) and 130.7 inches (Model 45). The J-20 was the three-quarter ton line that came only on the 131 inch wheelbase (Model 46) but had three GVW options, 6,800, 7,600 and 8,400 pounds. Yep, the J-Series truck lines had shrunk since the Kaiser and early AMC days, when they were available with 23 configuration choices, including duallies.

As for trim levels, buyers had a great number of options. The two main ones were Base and Custom. Custom got you bright trim and a chrome front bumper along with extra sound deadening material, engine-turned look instrument cluster trim, the Deluxe "Soft Feel" vinyl seats and padded door panels with bright trim. Custom didn't include carpet, which you could order separately or came standard in some of the other packages.

Ala carte options for all the J-series trucks included the light bar and brush guard, rear step bumper, outside passenger mirror, or dual low profile mirrors. The chrome front bumper was an option along with nifty bumper guards. Besides the Tracker A-T, white spoke wheel package (J-10 only), a set of chrome plated 7-inch speakers was an option for the standard size tires (again J-10 only). A sliding rear window was optional and Jeep offered an aluminum Cargo Cap for trucks with the 8-foot bed only.
ANSWER TO POTENTIAL BUYER'S QUESTION....."The transmission is in the vehicle. It has been checked out "by two mechanics". Seller is sure that it needs rebuilt or replaced. Transfer case looks good with no oil leaking out either end. There are no dents where it looks like there are, must have been the photo, also no rust anywhere on paint or under, no raised spots. Also, seller is going to try to get a short video of the engine running which I could post on Youtube for your reference.Consequently, please ask more questions so that I may attach that additional information!Again, this is a minty body and the engine runs good according to the owner.NO RUST WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS AND NO DENTS WHERE IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WAS, BLAMING THE IPHONE PICTURES AND PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS.Also, "gas tanks are full" she said. "
DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PAY!
