This vehicle is ready to use and love the comments we get even just going to the grocery store. We drive it for fun, occasionally to work on a beautiful day.
The original owner was an Iowa dairy farmer who used this as a runabout on his farm. The milk cans would often spill and caused some rust on the floorboards. We believe this story is supported by the fact that the floorboards are the only area on the vehicle that show rust damage (repaired). It has none of the typical rust damage seen everywhere on a vehicle driven in the midwest in winter (from salt), my Dad kept it in storage for 8 months of the year. It is still garage kept only. There is also a small rust spot on the door portion of the drivers side (see picture) My dad bought this Jeep in 1997 from the original owners. It has been in our family since then. When my father could no longer drive, we bought it from him. For my dad, this was his “fun” vehicle to go to the store, tool around the neighborhood and take us out for ice cream.
*REPAIRS: - The carburetor was replaced with a new unit several years ago. - Intake valve clearances adjusted within the last 1,000 miles. - Brakes: Brake lines & emergency brakes repaired 2018 - Master cylinder has been replaced - New gas tank installed February 2020
*NEEDS: - Transmission pops out of 2 Still very much drive-able. - Exhaust valve clearances should be checked.

History of the Jeep CJ (Civilian Jeep) The Jeep CJ-5 is a product of Willys-Overland refining the original World War II Willys MB Jeep. Starting with the CJ-2A in 1945, subsequent improved models were the CJ-3A and CJ- 3B before the introduction of the CJ-5 in 1955. Akin to the original jeep, the CJ-5 was a civilian variant of their M-38A1 military Jeep, which went into production in 1952.The engineinitially available was the “Hurricane” F-head 4-cylinder that was based on the original engine used in the WWII jeeps. This Jeep has a great deal of similarities to the original Willys MB as evidenced by the snorkel cutout on the right side of the hood.
