Description of 1980 Land Rover Defender series 3

THIS IS A NO RESERVE SALE SO WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.
Hi we offer for sale another very original Land Rover, his is a 1982 series 3 diesel .First reg 10/02/1982
This vehicle was used as a gamekeepers truck and even had a bird feeder on the drivers side(now removed)It also has a large porthole in the roof for shooting, his has not been used on the public roads for many many years, nly been used for feeding birds shooting and general duties around the estate. Just over 90k miles from new.
We have done some work to this to bring it back into a good usable roadworthy condition, isted below.
CHASSIS / FRAME, Original with clearly visible ID numbers, e have fitted a new rear cross member and also all outriggers have been replaced with new, ull chassis cleaned painted and treated, ll sound and no need for any further welding.
ENGINE,Original to vehicle 2.25 diesel, ust had a full service by us, tarts stops as it should no nasty noises, ulls really well, ypical of this type of engine when cold on start up it smokes a bit but once warmed up runs clean, his has been run all its life on RED farm diesel and only been used for short runs,now using white road diesel and given longer runs this can only improve.
GEARBOX/TRANSFER,4 speed with hi/lo and diff lock all in good working order and again original to vehicle.
AXLES, font>Good order diff oils changed, wivels have been rebuilt with new bearings bushes etc both good working order,fitted with working freewheeling hubs.Original steel wheels (been painted ) legal tires
BODYWORK,All original to vehicle, ood doors x 3 / bulkhead solid, ood condition and never welded,
Foot wells are good,drivers side has had a plate welded in there at some point, assenger side original. Panels are original and not been repainted complete with all original imperfections lumps and bumps, s to be expected from a working vehicle of this age ( please see photos ) not perfect but we we have seen a lot worse please remember this is a 33 year old landy that has worked all it's life, nd ready for more.
INTERIOR,Original delux seating ( bit shabby but easy fix) buttons and switches all work, his has a large porthole in the roof been used for shooting,not original factory spec but made well see photos.
GENERAL WORKS,We have fitted a new diesel tank and lines, itted new steering joints and bushes,brakes have been overhauled .
SUMMERY,This is a real mans truck, very Honest original 33 year old Late land rover series 3, n good usable condition,ready for work or play. Drives really well, his is sold with no known faults apart from any listed above. I would say this is a good starter Land Rover for someone, ecause as most people know the series 3 landy is very easy to work on with a bare minimum of tools and equipment needed to do any jobs you might need.
This vehicle has not been restored or repainted and is ideal for import in to the US.
