Description of 1985 Land Rover Defender

Beauty of a 110 we finished up a bit ago that has turned out very nicely. We nicked named this one Desert Storm with matte beige and black color combination that seems fitting. Be sure to see the two videos at the end of the list as well.
Started with a solid left hand drive 110 from Europe with a 2.5 na which ran great. All the usual 'problem' areas were with either solid as is like the door bottoms, bulkhead, cross member and frame or where addressed / replaced like the foot wells.
We then swapped out the 2.5 na with a professionally rebuilt 4.0 Gems fuel injected motor and auto transmission with lokar shifter. It starts on the first turn flawlessly every time and reacts perfectly when you hit the gas. You can do 70-80 mph on the highway all day without issue. Acceleration is great and you can merge into traffic with ease. The brand new magnaflow exhaust system has a bold, throaty but remains classy. List of mechanical work completed below.

For the exterior, the truck was sanded fully down to the metal, any minor bumps or bruises addressed and then a matte beige color applied to the body and a matte black to the top. It turned out better than we thought and the matte really catches your eye as well as everyone around you. It looks very sharp with the black wheels and the new BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires including the matching full size spare and mounted jack completes the look.

The interior is very clean sporting the original, seating that we kept because it matched the rest of the truck so well. New VDO gauges replaced the original ones and show about 290 miles since completion. New rubber molded matting installed in the front with new middle row and fitted cargo row matting it the rear. The door panels were removed and wrapped in clean black leather. All lights, gauges, signals etc work as they should too. We had a professionally installed 30% tint on all the windows that really completes the look.

And, we installed a brand new factory AC kit that blows ice cold! AC is a must in builds of this caliber and ensures a cool and comfortable ride so you can take your truck anywhere.

Desert Storm is ready to go and can be driven home anywhere you'd like. This is a turn key truck ready for the town, beach, highway or trail. Truck also passed Virginia State Inspection first time with zero issues. Inspector was amazed at the quality of the truck.

There are lots of Defenders out there for sale with prices all over the map. There are very, very few with professional mechanical work and motor swaps of this quality completed by a Master Land Rover Technician with 20+ years experience working on Rovers. You can purchase this truck with confidence and not have to worry about having to dump any money into it like many of the other horror stories out there with various overseas and domestic 'high line' builds.

This truck provides the classic Defender look but provides the modern conveniences to allow this to be a real daily driver. I have two videos posted below for your review (I am clearly not a director). Yes, I have all the proper stamped import documents as well as clear Virginia title. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for looking!
