Description of 1984 Land Rover Defender

1984 land Rover Defender 110 Here is 1984 Land rover Defender 110 Soft top pickup. I am selling this truck for a customer. It is equipped with a 200tdi turbo diesel engine and 5 speed transmission. It is right hand drive but it is easy and fun learn to drive. Our shop. North America Overland. did a large amount of work 2000 miles ago. Also feel free to contact me for any Land Rover repair. restoration and outfitting needs! northamericaoverland. com Watch the video: Body  All new door latches were installed as well as a new windshield frame. windshield and new corrosion resistant door hinges. The door check straps were replaced with the newer style which hold the door open securely. All new door weather stripping was added and the bulkhead vents were upgraded to the newer style. less leak prone weather stripping. The body has some minor corrosion on the bottom of the doors. the bulkhead has a bit of rot on the right hand foot well this is fairly typical stuff. There are minor dings and scratches on the body. The Rover has had all its exterior lights replaced including hella headlights. The soft top has a zip out sun roof and the back window rolls up. Engine The motor is a 200tdi turbo diesel. this is one of the best engines for expedition type use it is economical and reliable. The motor runs great and gives the Rover great highway cruising ability unlike the early non turbo diesels. this one has had its head gasket replaced and a new timing belt 2000 miles ago. The radiator and water pump is new as well.   Chassis The frame has had some rot that has been repaired throughout the life of the truck. 2000 miles ago the truck has had all suspension bushings. wheel bearings. steering box. tie rods. tie rod ends. brake lines calipers. wheels cylinders. drums and rotors. Also the front steering knuckles have been completely rebuilt. All oils were changed. basically everything that a 25+ year old rover would need replaced was done at this time. No short cuts were taken. if it needed to be replaced it was. The front springs have Discovery II rubber spring isolators and the rear springs are new Genuine Land Rover units. the shocks are Old Man Emu. With all the suspension work it has had you can be sure the truck drives much nicer than your average worn out Rover. Transmission and Transfer Case The transmission had its oil changed with Redline MTL. New transfer case mounts were installed and the oil changed in it as well. Axles The Rover has had new wheel bearings installed both front and rear and differential fluids changed. Interior The interior has 3 new seats from Exmoor trim as well as 3 new shoulder harness seat belts. The plastic dash binnacle support was replaced with an upgraded aluminum unit and all the gauges got replaced with new VDO units. Outfitting The Rover has been outfitting with a basic set of equipment. Its recovery kit includes a Warn 9000lb winch. 30' kinetic tow strap. 2 D shackles. a 60’’ High Lift Jack. High Lift Jack base. High Lift Jack jacking receptacle adapter and a Carter expedition shovel. A first aid kit is provided in an orange waterproof case. For off road protection a set of Mantec rock sliders were added as well as genuine Land Rover headlight guards. The tires are 7. 50 16 Michelin XZL mud tires mounted on Genuine Land Rover NATO wheels with a matching spare mounted on the hood. The Rover has a rear work light and a heavy duty absorbed glass mat battery. The cargo bay has been completely reinforced with diamond plate aluminum and 6 load lashing points added. A small lockable storage box has been integrated into the bed to hold the recovery gear for easy access. A basic set of tools are housed in a tool roll and box behind the seats. A snorkel was added and the entire air intake piping was well sealed to give the Rover excellent wading capabilities.
