Beautiful 1966 Land Rover Series IIA. This car has been a weekend fun car for me for a couple years now. It's not fast, but it looks super cool and does everything it is supposed to do. I purchased the car from a British Car mechanic locally. He did loads of work under the hood including:
New Crank SealTiming Beltrebuilt fuel injection distribution pumpRebuilt front and rear wheel hubsReplaced all wheel cylinders and brake shoesNew brake linesnew brakesglow plugsNew Battery in 2019
Other new itemsNew Soft top - 2017New water resistant vinyl interior - 2019New Land Rover Floor Mats
All of the major work was done in 2017. I have only driven the car occasionally so less than 1500 miles have been put on the car since all the major work. I have done simple Maintanence since then with oil changes and such. Last year I did new upholstery upgrading to beautiful camel colored vinyl.
The original engine was rebuilt by the owner previous to the mechanic I bought it from. Unfortunately I do not have any document history of that.
Starts up every time even after sitting for a few weeks. Everything works on the car, 4WD works great, all the gears shift well. It is a 4 speed manual, right hand drive.
The soft top is new as of 2017.
Only thing not working is the Temperature gauge. (I have not attempted to fix this but should be easy fix) All other gauges work. The tires are old, but work well for a weekend driver. Lots of tread left on them. Other note, there is a little bit of bubbling of the paint on the passenger door (see picture)

This is a really straight vehicle but is 50+ years old. It's not show quality but is a really good fun car to have with minimal rust, solid floors, solid frame and lots of new items.
You will love owning this car!
