Vehicle Details

Legally Imported Customs DOT & EPA clear this 1985 Land Rover Defender 110 County Station Wagon was manufactured with the 3.5L V8 engine with matching LT85 (bulletproof) 5 speed manual transmission (regarded as a very heavy duty gearbox)

**Relisted due to a time waster** Please only genuine bids

**Now added this week a New Carpet kit throughout the cabin & a spare wheel holder & spare tire on rear door on brand new shot blasted 16" rim.

Welcome to this auction for a RHD 1986 Land Rover 110 with factory 3.5L V8 with power steering. Only 75878 miles from new.

This vehicle was purchased in the UK as a barn find & had been in storage for 6 years hence the low mileage. This vehicle has only had 4 owners throughout its 30 years of life. As this vehicle is 30 years old it qualifies as a vintage vehicle with DMV this reduces your tags fees considerable (please check your local state)

As soon as we acquired the vehicle it was apparent the engine needed some tlc so a full engine rebuild was in order (this was due to sitting in storage for 6 years) which was completed by a former Land Rover Solihull mechanic; at the same time we installed a new clutch kit. (Please see image of engine re-build.) The V8 is now like a new engine and has that classic V8 note starts first time every time idle’s nicely and has great acceleration. The best preforming defender v8 I have ever driven.

½ new exhaust system installed from half way back including brackets.

A brand new radiator was installed the system flushed & fresh coolant added. Engine runs cool which is perfect.

The bulletproof LT85 5 speed transmission is in excellent condition so is the matching LT-230 transfer box which shifts from low-high with ease.

All hubs and axles have been checked and if required new bearings/seals installed. All fluids renewed. All brakes have been checked and are in working order. New front cooper brake lines have been installed as well as new fuel lines have been installed.

New suspension all round including springs shocks and hardware as well as new steering damper.

The 110 was treated to a complete set of new lights; new bowls headlights which are LHD beams from US roads side lights indicators and all rear lights which are all installed with stainless screws and are the Wipac brand considered the best quality. To complement the new lights new light surrounds and grill have been added which finishes the front end nicely with stainless fixing screws. The grill frame has been shot blasted & powder coated. All decals & logos are all genuine Land Rover parts.

The chassis is solid & has been fully coated in loctites rubberized undercoating (this is thinner than waxoil which I prefer as it doesn’t hide any nasty surprises however still gives excellent corrosion resistancy). A new rear crossmember has been professionally welded in as well as 2 new bulkhead outriggers.

The bulkhead is in great condition. Both side footwells were replaced with new items.

There are all new glass rubbers/seals and a brand new windshield with new wiper arms and blades.

All door bottoms have been replaced. Both front doors have new door skins and the rear door is a brand new unit. All door lock as they should.

All 4 original steel wheels have been shot blasted & powder coated as well as the rear tow bar & brackets.

A full exterior re-spray in burgundy metallic really makes this 110 stand out.

The interior is completely original and is still in excellent condition. We have not touched the interior as it was in such good condition other than to give it a good clean and the headliner was steam cleaned which is also in good condition. If you wish to change the seats or add a new carpet kit to modernize the interior this is very easy to do and there many options available at Exmoor trim or your custom shop.

We have also not installed a new sound system. Once again there is a huge range available however all pre-wiring is ready to be hooked up.

This defender has all matching untampered VINS and has passed EPA/DOT inspections cleared customs without issue and has a clean FL title in hand. Also comes with a Genuine Land Rover Certificate of build.

To conclude this is a great 110 that has been restored to a standard that allows the new owner to customize the interior to their own taste. Mechanically in great condition with a solid chassis. It is looking forward to its new life here in the USA. However please understand this is a soon approaching 30 year old vehicle and as such there are no warranties. Please do not expect it to be a new 2015 truck.

I welcome viewing or inspections (check my ride etc). I live approx. 20mins away from SW Florida Intl airport (RSW) if you wish to jump on a plane and view her for yourself; I will gladly pick you up at the airport and return. Test drives can only be done down my street as it doesn’t have a tag.

Also happy to help with loading on transporter.

Any questions please call me anytime upto 9pm EST on 239-682-7382 my name is Cristian.

*Strictly no time wasters $1000 deposit is required via Paypal within 24hrs of auction end. Remaining within 1 week. Vehicle will only be released when all funds have cleared. Sold as seen with no warranties applied. Vehicle is for sale locally so reserve the right to end the auction early if sold.

  • Who are We?
The Land Rover Defender (initially called the Land Rover Ninety and Land Rover One Ten) is a British four-wheel-drive off-road utility vehicle developed from the original Land Rover Series launched in 1948. In October 2013 Land Rover announced that production would end in December 2015 after a continuous run of 67 years

Here at British Defenders we specialise in the importation and restoration of the classic Land Rover Defender 90 and 110 County Station Wagon.

Life is a rollercoaster of experiences that we should embrace on a daily occurrence. For the intrepid explorer or a growing family the Land Rover Defender is a workhorse that gives you the tools to turn each day into a wonderful adventure. It is designed to withstand the rigors of the Rocky Mountains; battle the Zambezi River; defy the Sahara Desert. It is simple yet intricate; rugged yet comfortable; there are so many reasons to love this vehicle.

And love it we do.

We take 25 year old pre-loved but tired Defenders and breathe new life into them. Sanding grinding welding shot-blasting re-spraying and of course adding new parts where required - our Landy's get the full spa treatment. We take great care in restoring these classic cars back to their former glory and retaining their reliability is our utmost priority. To ensure this we use only Land Rover approved parts be it a Land Rover original or an oem parts manufacturer . Once restored we hope to find a forever home for our vehicles where they can be loved once more for many years to come.
