Description of 1940 Lincoln Other

This 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe V-12 is the pinnacle of cars. The original Beetle Green paint and broadcloth interior and carpet are all original. The plywood flooring in the rear of the car where the spare tire mounts is original as well. The V-12 engine purr’s quietly. The Colombia overdrive rear end works flawlessly. The transmission shifts smooth and with ease. The overall ride of the car is like floating on a cloud. The under carriage is perfect. You would be hard pressed to find another example of a car in similar condition.

The car was voted as the “Most Original Zephyr” at the LZOC Western National Meet in Los Gatos, alifornia on September, 7 1975. The car was shown by Martin Sasser of Tracy, alifornia. Martin purchased the car from the family of the original owner in 1974.The original owner, retired railroad employee, ad lost an arm during his life time and adapted a neon turn signal to the driver side of the vehicle (the signal has been uninstalled, ut the original mounting holes still reside). The car was purchased by Willie Parker a few years later and then parked for almost 40 years. The current owner purchased the beauty and has gone thru the entire car to make it road worthy once again.

The car recently went thru a refreshing. The Colombia rear end was rebuilt by Joe Longobardi. The entire suspension was gone through. New engine gaskets were installed. The motor compartment was also cleaned up. The interior was cleaned and refreshed. The shocks were rebuilt by 5 points classics shocks. Transmission rebuilt by Max Navarro. Distributor built by Jerry Richman. Brake redone by Early V8 Garage. Steering wheel and knobs were made by Knob Soup. Have all of thereceiptsfor work done. Water pumps rebuilt by Skip Haney.

Currently not working is the speedometer which should be sent out for repair.
