Description of 1965 Lincoln Continental CONTINENTAL

This auction is for a 1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible. It has the original 430 V-8 auto trans, with dual exhaust. Options are ps, pb, power windows, power seat, power top, air conditioning, tinted glass, am radio with power antenna, and drivers side remote mirror. The car recently came out of long term storage. It belonged to a friend of mine who had a large collection of Lincolns, Cadillac', Buick's and Packards. He passed away in 2004 and a lot of the collection was sold off. I recently was able to purchase 2 of the cars from his estate. One being a 56 Cadillac and the other a 53 Buick Super. In order to acquire these I had to purchase the 3rd one which is this Lincoln. I remember when Ron parked it in the storage facility and at that time it ran and drove nice. Had a small radiator leak so radiator was removed to be repaired . When we went to get the car we looked all around for the radiator but could not find it. So it will need one. Other then that the car is complete. As you can see from the pics the paint is pretty much gone by and the interior needs complete restoration due to the sun and being in California years back. I stuck a battery in for a moment and the Motor still turns over fine so I am sure it wouldn't take much to get it going. Also tried lights and most all of them work including a couple of interior lights. I tried the windows and the top switch but just got clicks out of them. I am sure they all need to be cleaned due to corrosion .The body is fairly solid on this car doors open and close fine and body is quite straight. There is some bubbled rust on the drivers front fender and a rust spot by the dog leg passenger side. 99 % of the under side is still original solid. Including rockers. There is a small rusted spot on the drivers side rear floor pan ( very repairable) and a rusted area on the passenger side front inner apron close to the weighted cocktail shaker. Also I pictured a rusted out area on the passenger side inner hood just above the hood hinge. Can be repaired as the outside hood skin is good. All glass is deep tinted and in nice shape. Cars rolls fine for loading but keep in mind it is inoperable at the moment. I believe this is still a good platform to rebuild and restore or excellent donor vehicle. To me the 65 Lincoln Convertible was the prettiest of all the suicide door Lincolns and are commanding great prices when done. THIS CAR WILL BE SOLD AT NO RESERVE WITH A VERY FAIR STARTING PRICE. PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU INTEND TO FOLLOW THRU WITH THE SALE. WE REQUIRE A $500 DOLLAR DEPOSIT AT THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION AND BALANCE TO BE PAID WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END. Update: If you have (0) or very low feedback please contact us before you place a bid. I just canceled the high bidder who had a (0) for feedback. I realize everyone has to start somewhere and all I did was send an email yesterday to confirm that they would follow through with the sale if they ended up being the winning bidder. Well I gave more than 24 hours which I feel is more than sufficient to respond and got no response. I have to assume they are not serious if they can not contact us. I take my auctions seriously and just expect the same in return. Also there is no sense leaving someone on the auction thats going to drive up the price with no serious intentions. Just want to keep it real. Have gotten a number of emails so heres answers to the questions. I do have the front passenger wheel lip moldingand the interior mirror that was glued to the windshield. A few people asked about the trunk lid so I removed the long bolts on each quarter panel and was able to open the lid part way. 98% of the lid is good and solid. There is some rust out on the very bottom lip far left and right that is repairable. You do not notice it from the outside edge but you can see it from shining a light on the inside. Yes it does have a spare wheel and tire, jack assembly and the lid flap when the top goes down. Yes we can hold the car until you can get a shipper to pick it up but it will be outside storage with a tarp. Thank you for all your interest. Bob.
