Description of 1948 Lincoln Continental

1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible. This car has had an extensive mechanical upgrade for todays driving needs. The old original drivetrain was a dinosaur and just not reliable or safe to drive in todays world. After the Second World War, Detroit was eager to re-tool so it could provide fine automobiles for the growing ranks of domestic car buyers. Ford targeted its upscale Lincoln Continental to car buyers starting to enjoy post-war prosperity—while Europe was still rebuilding after the war, this right hand drive convertible was built by Ford for the upscale European buyer. This car is extremely rare as it may be the only one of its kind left in existence. This gorgeous Continental convertible sports a power cloth top, an updated Boss 429 Ford engine with a C-6 automatic transmission and updated Rear end. This beauty also has a power top, power windows, power steering, Power brakes, tilt wheel, nice CD stereo player, super luxurious interior that is a great color combination with the black exterior. Paint has a nice, deep shine, and sheet metal looks very straight. The car has no rust, and the functional power top wears new canvas. Trim is complete, though the chrome shows a little pitting in some spots. This color combo is quite nice, and it’s nice that the car retains a stock originalappearance despite the rather significant mechanical changes. This car runs and drives great, fast and smooth at highway speeds with excellent stopping power and reliability.
