As is stated above, his is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1993 Mazda Miata. These are great little cars that have a great reputation. They are fun to drive, andle well, re reliable, heap to run and cheap to maintain. Not many cars will give you more smiles per mile than a Miata.

I have had a few of these NA Miatas, nd this is definitely the best of the bunch with regards to its condition. The leather interior is amazing compared to the usual cloth! This car is not in perfect shape, ut it is the best looking NA Miata that I have seen. The 1.6L engine runs well, as plenty of power, nd does not smoke or have blow-by. The clutch feels strong. The manual transmission shifts up and down through all of its gears normally without any grinding. The suspension feels solid, nd the brakes are strong. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive on country roads with the top down. It has a recent Mobil 1 oil and filter change, ew Bosch MX5 battery, ew sparkplugs, nd a new radiator. It needs the water pump replaced before being used as a regular driver, nd the air intake pipe has a hole that has been taped over, o it needs to be replaced too. There are some stickers under the hood showing that the fuel and A/C systems were serviced at 193k miles. A VA safety inspection expired 8/2014.

The black and tan interior of this car is definitely in above average condition for the age and mileage. The leather seats are comfortable and supportive, nd do not have any tears, tains or fading. The dash, oor panels and center console are all clean and free of sun damage. The carpets are in good shape, ut the factory mats are a bit faded. This car has power windows, ower mirrors, nd cruise control. The factory radio works, s does the heat. The A/C blows warm, nd the compressor does not appear to be kicking on. There is a driver airbag. All of the interior lights work and there are no warning lights showing on the dash.

The exterior of the car is not perfect, ut it is above average condition for the age. The black paint has a few scratches and dings, ut overall it still shines, nd does not have any areas of peeling clear coat. There is one spot of body rust in front of the passenger's side rear wheel arch, ut the rest of the body and the undercarriage are solid. The Miata "Daisy" wheels are all in decent shape, nd have a good set of Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum tires with plenty of tread. The tan top is a little stained (tree sap?), ut does not leak, nd the rear window is intact. All of the exterior lights and wipers work, nd the car still has the factory tonneau cover that fits over the top when it is down

I bought this car with the intention of keeping it as a daily driver when I saw its overall good condition. I installed a new Bosch MX5 battery, erformed the oil and filter change with Mobil One 5W-30 oil and a Bosch filter, nd installed NGK sparkplugs. I was enjoying the car, nd did a lot of driving on country roads over the first week without any trouble, ut then noticed that on the highway, bove 60mph, he temperature gauge was creeping up above the 12 o'clock position. Then I noticed that it was also creeping up when doing "spirited driving" at lower speeds. I took the car to a reputable performance shop I know and had them pressure test the coolant system, hich identified a small hole in the radiator. They installed a new radiator and flushed and bled the system. I asked if there was any evidence that "Stop Leak" had been used, nd they said no. It did not fix the problem, o I replaced the thermostat and the alternator / water pump belt myself, nd checked for "gunk" in the thermostat housing - there was none. Still, he problem still did not resolve. There is no coolant vapor in the exhaust, o coolant in the oil, nd no oil in the coolant. The coolant does not run out of the overflow and there is no loss of coolant elsewhere. I took the car back to the shop and they checked the oil for signs of coolant but found none, e-flushed the system and replaced the heat switch for the fans, ut no improvement. The only thing left to replace is the water pump. The pump itself is inexpensive, nd on most cars it's an easy repair. A Bosch unit can be picked up for about $24 on RockAuto.com. However, he Miata water pump is located behind the timing belt, nd both should be replaced together. I'm not comfortable messing with the timing belt myself. I was given an estimate of $600 for parts and labor to do both the pump and timing belt, hich isn't too bad, owever, was able to get a 1997 Miata for a decent price, o I am putting this one up for sale and keeping the '97. For someone comfortable with doing the timing belt themselves, his would be a relatively inexpensive fix, r drop in a 1.8L over winter for a decent power gain.

This would make a great daily driver car for someone, r a racecar. It is absolutely wonderful to drive. I would say that other than the cooling problem this car is above average condition for the age and mileage. This car is not in showroom condition, t has some faults, nd but it is a nice car.
