Description of 1979 Mazda RX-7 Limited Edition

This is a truly amazing time capsule. 1979 Mazda RX-7(SA-22C).Built in March, 1979 and it has only been driven 25,150 pampered miles in the past 40 years and has always been garaged. 1 of just 3,000 built.It's highly doubtful that you will ever find another low mileage, original one for sale. This is a great opportunity to add a truly rare, iconic Japanese sports car to your collection.
The Limited list price in 1979 was $10,000. In comparison, the base model RX-7 was only $6,400.

This car is completely STOCK, in it'soriginal factory condition and it still has retains everything that was included with it from new. Auction includes: The original 1979 Bridgestone raised white letter spare tire & Limited alloy wheel, the original RX-7 logo floor mats, jack & handle, wheel lug wrench & pouch, sun roof storage pouch & clip on wind deflector, two factory ignition keys + spare, Clarion stereo key, owner's manual, dealer stamped warranty book. Rare dealer option- black vinyl front protection RX-7 logo bra from 1979 in very good condition. Haynes repair/service book. Large laminated Limited magazine ad from 1979 (Great for displaying with the car).
The special "Beat Black Metallic" Limited paint is totally original and is in beautiful condition. No bodywork has ever been done to the car, that I am aware of. Zero rust. The undercarriage still has factory inspection yellow paint marks on the bolts! The painted metal moldings that surround the windshield had faded out, so they were just recently refinished to match the original gunmetal color trim finish.
At great expense, a replica OEM Limited pinstripe kit has been installed. (The original vinyl pinstripes had faded and had been removed years ago.) The new silver and burgundy stripes match the original pinstripes perfectly and they look fantastic!
The original factory velour interior is good condition (some small fabric cracks) for being forty years old and ALL of the factory black carpets, headliner and interior trim is in fantastic condition. No dash cracks. All of the glass is in excellent condition. The Limited digital quartz clock still keeps perfect time, door/key warning chime functions, all of the lighting inside and out works correctly, even the glove box still lights up. All of the gauges and electronics work, the special Clarion stereo system sounds great. The cassette player does power up and clicks, but I believe it needs a new rubber drive belt to play a tape. A stereo repair shop should be able to easily fix it.
The engine runs VERY STRONG and the car is an absolute joy to drive! Hop in and go anywhere.
Recent repair work that was completed to sort the car out mechanically.

All fluids changed. Red Line performance MT-90 oil installed in the 5-speed transmission. It shifts perfect and clicks into gears like a gated Ferrari.
Complete Tune Up- New spark plugs, plug wires, points, cap & rotor, air cleaner and a new gas filter installed.
Four brand new tires (Dec 2018) installed and balanced.
Brake fluid flush, inspection and new rear brake shoes installed.
The original rear hatch OEM "gas struts" were just rebuilt by StutWise in Surrey, Canada. This was done in order to keep all of the original electrical connectors/wires on the struts intact, so that the rear window defroster will function correctly.

Full professional detail completed- Exterior, interior and engine/compartment.
Minor issues:1. Air conditioning compressor electric clutch engages when the A/C system is turned on, but the air does not get cold. The R12 freon probably needs to be refilled/serviced, or switch it over to R134a.2. As noted before, the cassette player powers up, but will not play a tape. I believe the original rubber drive belt needs to be replaced.3. Power antenna- It works, but doesn't retract all the way down.
The car is located ten minutes from the Sea-Tac airport in the Seattle area and am willing to pick you up at the airport to inspect the car, and can also help your shipping company to load the car.

Even though this RX-7 is in fantastic condition, it is still a 40 year old used car with minor chips, dings and wear. It does not come with a warranty. There will be no refunds, no return for any reason.
