1991 Mazda Miata Rare Silver Stone Metallic over Black - Largely Original Paint - All Original Top and Interior Under 58. 00 Original One Owner Miles - Original Books. Keys and Some Records Just Lightly Serviced. Cleaned and Aligned - Ready For The Next 200K-plus Miles! Please Wait for all Pictures to Load! Sold new in the Dallas. TX area. this incredibly original 1991 Miata remained there until just a month or so ago when I bought it for a client. The car had been loved throughout its life and I was very pleased when it arrived at how wonderfully original it was. Importantly. it is also fitted with one of the first long-nose crankshaft engines from Mazda after the problems they had with the first year and some early 1991s with 'short-nose' cranks. Pardon our dust in the photos. my showroom is being remodeled. Unfortunately (for him. in my opinion). my client decided he wanted a newer example and bought another car. so we were only too happy to keep this around for a little while. sort through it and prepare it for sale. I had some minor dings removed by my expert paintless dent remover. changed the oil and filter. did plugs and wires. transmission and rear end service and a few other tasks like cleaning out the idle control valve and replacing the little button on the clutch pedal. Since I noticed that the steering wheel was off slightly. I also took the car down the street for a precision 4 wheel alignment. adding a little extra negative camber for better turn-in. something I have done to each and every Miata I have owned for myself. it's a noticeable improvement over stock. The resulting car is just extraordinary in its purity. It is just hard to believe that the Miata is now 25 years old. this one just a little younger. As a tall guy. I think the early "NA" (1st generation) Miatas are the most comfortable and spacious of the classic-looking examples. plus they are very light and tossable as well. Just clean lines and a very clean body. timeless! Every panel on this car fits the way it was when it was new. every VIN sticker is in its place. the Autocheck report is clean and shows no issues from day one! The area behind the license plate usually evidences paintwork on these cars. but here the little NA01 decal belies that! The lights all work! More outstanding originality. just a terrific car from front to back. Silver was a relatively rare color for the 1991 Miata and rarer still to find one so original with no clearcoat loss or other damage. Truly remarkable! The convertible top is completely original. the back window is a little wrinkly but not overly weathered. The top has no tears or unusual wear. The original top boot is also nearly flawless. I confess to not having overly cleaned or detailed this car - the paint got a quick clay bar and wax and the interior got vacuumed. That's it. The seats are in amazing original condition as is dash and carpet. no cracks or tears in either. In the interest of full disclosure. there are a couple of small hairline cracks in the bottom of the plastic "tombstone" center stack trim below the radio but since this has the original safety sticker on it I did not think it was a good idea to replace it. Sorry for the spots from the flash in the carpet. The original radio must have given up the ghost and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD with Aux input is in its place. this works well as does everything else. The A/C blows ice cold. heat works wonderfully. Note the original Miata script mats. rare to find in nice shape. Even the shift knob shows very little wear. Mileage as of today. may go up slightly for test drives or a quick blast! Both doorpanels are likewise free of tears or cracks. One owner cars are nice since some used car dealer along the way didn't toss the books. The same name is on the original delivery card as is on many of the recent receipts and the title is still in the name of his daughter whom he transferred it to some years ago (I assume in trust. since he was the seller via his mechanic). All original keys are present as are some service records as pictured. At one time he was a member of the National Miata Club. The original donut spare. jack. jack wrench and lug wrench are all present. Not pictured but included if you need one is a front license plate bracket assembly if you are from a two plate state. The battery (behind the upholstery to the right) is about one year old. The trunk upholstery is as-new. While I serviced the engine. I did not detail it and it is clean! Partial records indicate a recent water pump and hint to the timing belt having been done around the same time. though I cannot confirm this. The cylinder head is unsually clean so I suspect it may have been off and the belt would have been done at that time. This car also has a pair of fantastic FIAMM air horns. this car does not just go meep-meep but has that classic Ferrari sound if someone is in your way! payment/shipping Payment is expected within seven (7) days of auction close unless cleared with me in advance of your bid. Accepted forms of payment include cashier's cheque or wire transfer in advance or cash on pickup if you care to drive it away. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay or do not have the necessary funds available as I have no patience for this. I am a professional antique car broker with alliances with many dealers and we can arrange in advance to run this transaction through a Georgia dealer if you want to do it that way. or we can do it as a private party transaction as I had intended to do for my client who reneged. it is entirely up to you. Since Georgia does not typically issue titles for vehicles this old. I did not want to lose the original owner's title. so it is in the filing cabinet. Shipping or pickup should take place within fourteen (14) days of auction close unless cleared with me in advance of your bid. I would be happy to point you in the direction of a cost-effective shipper (I have several that I use all over the country) if you want to have it picked up. or I will collect you at Augusta/Bush Field (AGS) at our mutual convenience if you'd like to fly in and drive home. Coming to Augusta for the Masters Tournament? Why rent when you can buy - and drive home! Whatever the case. let's discuss logistics if that is your intent. I am happy to help in any way that I can. Bottom line. this is a really terrific NA Miata that will provide many. many years of reliable service and more smiles per mile than just about anything out there. As my late friend and legendary automotive journalist David E. Davis. Jr said repeatedly "it's just more fun going fast in a slow car than going fast in a car that you know is quick". His opinion of these early Miatas was very similar to mine - light weight and good power makes for good fun. QUESTIONS? COMMENTS? CONCERNS? E-MAIL ME OR CALL MY CELL: 804. 357. 4926
