Description of 1987 Mercedes-Benz S-Class SEL (long Wheel Base)

I have a beautiful 1987, ercedes 560SEL, ast of the hand built classic Mercedes, op of the line in 1987. I bought the car in 2009, ith 120k miles on it... and have done a lot to it - that you won't need to worry about. I have too many cars, ife wants it gone. It is Navy Blue with a medium blue interior - see pics. I put a like new interior in it in 2010 as the old seats were looking a little tired. Looks awesome.. no tears, o rips, ice.. and still looks like new. Last month replaced the water pump, nd the viscus clutch (which drives the water pump), ew belts, ew fan, s one of the propellers on the fan had a chip in it.. (not good) for safety reasons. In October 2013 it had a new distributor, ap, otor, gnition wires and plugs and a new coil. I use BOSCH new parts... only. Gets about 22 Highway, 0 around town. Brakes are great - rebuilt calipers and brakes went in 18 months ago...
Put new MB wheels (original stock) in 2011. Headliner is beautiful - looks like new. AC works, s does the heat. All the windows work - except for the rear drivers side... don't know why - maybe a switch... haven't looked into it. Sunroof opens and closes beautifully. Replaced the front directional lamps with the clear aftermarket ones - to give the car a newer, ore modern look. Car runs strong and delivers that pampered Mercedes ride. I replaced the factory Hydraulic self leveling suspension shocks in 2010 with Bilstein HD shocks, nd by passed the hydraulic system and capped it. So, t does not need shocks and rides like a dream. Dashboard got a new aftermarket cover and I put it on, nd it looks good, ut I bought a beautiful black dash out of another 87 with no cracks, ears or rips - and I have not put that in yet.. just haven't got around to it. I have too many cars.. seriously. So that is negotiable.. if you don't want it - I'll throw it back on EBAY.
In preparation for doing that job, purchased new in the box, ll the actuators that control the vacuum system for the climate control... and I have all of those fittings as well also negotiable. I just figured if I was going to pull the dash - which is not that big a job in this car, might as well refresh everything under the dash. The AC and heat work well - but I figured at 27 years old, t was worth doing while I was in there.
The car has Michelin MXV4's with good tread.. Brakes are fine - just rebuilt calipers two years ago, very corner got new pads.
Radio works..
If you are looking for a car that all maintenence was performed, nd anything wrong was fixed, hen you found the right car. This car is not a money pit.. it's a good deal, nd it has never left me strandid, xcept once when the battery died.
The car has ~150k miles on it... I got the car with 120k miles on it. These cars are known to go 300k when cared for properly.... Good Luck Bidding!
