Description of 1980 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Selling a terrific condition 1980 Mercedes 450SL convertible, eige with chocolate color rag top in excellent condition. 131,000 original miles. Has much sought after rear seat. 450 V8 rear wheel drive with lots of gratifying torque and speed.

We bought it in the Hamptons when we lived there in summer 2011 and it's been absolutely wonderful to own and drive and she has been very good to us. Well over $8,000 was put into it when I bought it because it became a bit of a happy hobby. Since MB still makes many parts for this model, ny parts replaced were with Mercedes OEM parts. Have all service records and always serviced by certified Mercedes mechanic.Starts, uns and drives very strong. Never a problem whatsoever.

Everything works and in most cases, orks like it just came off the line with the exception of needing a new power antenna motor, ut that a small thing. 30 bucks on ebay, r 140.00 throughMercedes.

Only two small areas of rust are present, therwise very clean as this was aTennesseecar for most of it's life until being moved to Long Island in 2010. Small quarter shaped area behind right rear tire and small dime shape beginning to bubble on convertible boot. (see attached photos) Auto bodyshop estimate in my area was $700.00 for full repair. Noted is that rust is currently containable if work is completed soon.

We have taken very good care of, nd maintained this car carefully; always garaged. Have original owners manuals, ll keys, ard top and new classic brand stereo that I planned to install, ut never found the time.

She's a real eye catcher and we always get tons compliments on the car. There are lots of 450SLs still on the road which says a lot about the build quality of thesePanzer wagons as the techs call them. 1980 was the last year of production for the 450SLs. From what I'm told, ince 1980 was the lastyear of production, pproximately 90% of them remained in Germany making this model yearmore desirable to collectors.

Folks, his is a great car and it breaks my heart to sell it, ut I no longer will soon have either thefacilitiesto store it properly nor the time to enjoy it. Please give her a good home andcontinuethe legacy. All included. Priced aggressively to move. Please no time wasters, ire kickers or low ball offers.
