Description of 1983 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL convertible

I purchased this car in December 2013 thinking I would fix it up enough to drive around. It had been sitting unused at least a year by the previous owner. It sat all winter in my cold garage. In the spring I got it a new battery, uel pump, nd fuel pump relay. That got the motor running. I put license plates on it and drove it around a bit in the summer. I think I put about 300 miles on it since I got it. The brakes needed to be bled so we did that but they are still soft.

The hard top is included. The soft top needs to be replaced. The frame for the soft top is in good condition.

The Trans is slow to go into drive or reverse but all the gears work.

The seats have rips. There are cracks in the dash. Some of the wood on the dash is peeling off. I have no idea if the heat or AC work. The radio does not work. The odometer is stopped at 160000 + miles, ommon problem on these and easy to fix (the forums say).

There is some body rust.

The car is priced to sell as a fixer upper. If it was in great shape it would be worth 10 times more and I would not be selling it. The handling on this car is amazing. Feels glued to the road on corners.

This 380SL has no reserve. Car is being sold as is - where is. No warranty.

The buyer is responsible for pickup and shipping. The car can be driven but I make noguaranteeshow far you will get. The brakes work but not at 100%

Please ask questions before you bid.
