These models also made their way into many shows and movies - and still do, ven to this day. From Seinfeld ("The Jimmy") to The Simpsons ("The Bart Wants What It Wants"), nd every genre in between, he 108 and 109 will live on forever.

The 108 and 109 Chassis Mercedes Benz vehicles are the last truly hand-built S-Class Mercedes vehicles (aside from some current AMG models). They were also the last vehicles with the infamous "Mercedes look" - stacked headlamps (on North American versions), urvy hoodlines, nd a very large front grille. To this day, any people can still recognize their lines as distinctively Mercedes, ven if they were not even born when the model was still in production.

The Mercedes-Benz W108 and W109, tyled by noted automobile designer Paul Bracq, ere built in Stuttgart in what was then West Germany, rom 1965 until 1972. Although production ended in 1972, ome vehicles were marketed and sold as 1973 model year versions in North America. They were typically late-production vehicles, nd some didn’t arrive in North America until 1973.

This Beauty was born in September of 1972, nd it was titled as a 1973 Model, aking it one of the last W108 V8 models rolling of the production line!!!!

Mercedes made only 8,173 280SEL 4.5 V8’s in period from May of 1971 until November of 1972, nd this beauty is one of them!!! Also, .5 V8 was only offered to the North American Market, aking it particularly desirable in Europe! Add the highly desirable sunroof and automatic floor shifter to the mix, nd you have a something that lots of collectors and Mercedes-Benz Enthusiasts are looking for!!!

About the car:

Its Astral Silver (#735G) paint has a nice presence, nd it makes this German Luxury Sedan look very elegant and timeless!! It was repainted back in early 90’s, nd today upon closer inspection you can notice some imperfections and blemishes in the paint (some paint cracking and bubbling that you would expect on 20+ year old paint job). From 10-20 feet away paint still looks good, nd it is great for a driver car, ut if you want a stunning show winner, ew paint would be in order.

Chrome is very nice and complete, nd this beautiful sedan is a head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes.

This Mercedes was a Southern USA car its whole life! Being Southern USA car its whole life, t is very solid, nd its undercarriage is all original and unmolested!! Body is also straight, nd all doors, ood, nd trunk are operating with ease, ith everything lining up as it should. Factory VIN # stamping on the front radiator support is another sign of originality of this car. (please see pictures)

There is not a lot of 280SEL 4.5 V8’s out there in this solid, riginal and preserved condition!! As Mercedes made only a little bit over 8,100 of 4.5 V8 SEL’s, here is not a lot of them left period!!!! Add a power sunroof, nd floor gearshift option, nd number of survivors is even smaller!!

Its original and elegant Black Leather interior shows its age, nd original leather seat covers would need to be replaced. Seats are still comfortable and very supportive.

Majority of W108 SEL’s came with MB-Tex vinyl seat covers, o having original leather seat option is highly desirable on these models!

This Mercedes comes with power windows and optional power sunroof… Even the Seat Belt Buzzer warning is working if you sit down behind the steering wheel and you or your front passengers don’t buckle yourself!
