This 1973 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 4.5 Sedan was originally owned by Tobacco Heiress Doris Duke of Sommerville New JerseyThe Exterior Custom Paint Color that Miss Duke chose when newly purchased is called ICON GOLD
This Beautiful 300 SEL has a Brand New Black Leather Interior. Black and Gold Trim Mats with the Mercedes Benz Logo accent the interior beautifully. The interior Zebrano woodwork has been completely refinished, nd is absolutely gorgeous. The Headliner is Original, nd in excellent condition with no rips or stains. The original interior was in very good condition, ut I saw a few age cracks starting to appear, o I decided that this car warranted a New Black Leather Interior installed.
The body of this car is RUST FREE and SOLID and that includes the typical trunk area concerns, loors, enders, oors, nd quarter panels. The paint on a scale from 1-10 is a 9 and it is an older restoration, ut very well cared for.
The body is in excellent shape, nd there is only one very small crease on the driver side rear quarter. This is a very minor flaw.The Suspension rises and falls as it should and stays up continually. The Engine is a 4.5 V8 Fuel Injected which runs beautifully and is highly detailed. You can refer to photos to substantiate my description.
The Mercedes has a Factory Sun Roof that works perfectly, long with its original Becker AM-FM Stereo and Power AntennaAs with all the 109 300 SELs this car comes with factory air suspension which has been completely replaced with New air bellows and front and rear leveling valves. The exhaust system has been replaced as well. The air conditioning compressor works and needs a charge which I will have done before car is picked up or shipped.
There are 4 Brand New Michelin Tires on 4 reconditioned alloyed Bundt wheels. The car came with 4 factory chrome hub caps and they will be included in the sale of the car. The Mercedes has its Original Tool Kit. All the chrome has been either replaced new, r re-plated, s well as the polished aluminum trim.
